We would like to thank the merchants who allow us to place our
poppy boxes in their stores and to the community at large for
generously donating during our poppy blitz.
Branch 309 has once again been invited to, take part in the St.
Helens' Remembrance Day service to be held this year on Nov.
loth at 2:30 p.m. We will meet at the Branch at approx. 2:00
p.m. and car pool from there.
Our own Remembrance Day service will, of course, be observed
on Nov, 11th with a parade from the Branch at 9:45 a.m. to the
United Church for a 10:00 service. We will then parade to the
cenotaph for 11:00 o'clock. The Lucknow Legion Pipe Band will
lead our parade and the LCPS band will be on hand to play during'
the wreath laying ceremony. All members are urged to attend as
this is the main purpose of The Royal Canadian Legion. "Lest We
Forget." A van will be supplied by Montgomery Motors for those
who are unable to parade but would still like to take part.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank those of the
community who take part in the wreath laying ceremony and invite
everyone to come out and help us observe what should be one of
the community's and country's most revered days.
