There are changes
once again in the down-
town business block with
the move of Gallant
Communications from
625 Campbell Street, the
former Dee Vee's, to 590
Campbell Street where
Bob Gunter had his
Metlife branch office.
Across the road in the
former Bain's Groceteria,
Chisholm Fuels have
opened a display store
and office.
Sunday at 6:30 on the
T.V. program "Behind
The News" there were
several familiar faces as
the village of Lucknow
and surrounding area
were highlighted for the
successful building of a
new sports complex and
the amazing fact that it is
all paid for.
Robin and Barbara
Hewitt of 616 Havelock
Street have moved back
to Goderich. The new
owners of the former
Jessie Chester house are
Craig and Leanne
Crawford of Ripley.

Rev. Peggy Kinsman
was away at Synod meet-
ings in Wallaceburg for
part of last week. Rev.
Jim Baker of Kincardine
conducted the services in
the Presbyterian churches
on Sunday morning.
Clara Henderson is
home from Malawi,
Africa and presently
attending a conference in
Toronto. On Saturday the
family all gathered with
Rev. Bill and Peggy
Henderson for a family
get-together.
Birthday wishes go out
this week to Edna Cowan
of Pinecrest Manor who
celebrated her 93rd birth-
day Oct. 27,
Home from trip
to eastern province

Norma Rintoul and
Thelma Cardiff of
Brussels visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Dave
Oberholtzer and Julie of
Waterloo. On
Thanksgiving Monday
they travelled to Barrie to
take Julie back to school,
and then the ladies trav-
elled to Bracebridge,
Bala, Windermere and
reported beautiful colors
on the trees. ,
Mildred Purdon visit-
ed a few days with her
daughter Kendra and
Bruce Clunney of
Aurora. Archie visited
there on the weekend and
they returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Carmen
Whytock returned home
on Tuesday evening after
two weeks at the east
coast visiting with their
son Rev. and Mrs. Jack
Whytock and family.
They rented a van and
they. all toured Prince
Edward Island. The
weather was beautiful.
They also toured Ann of
Green Gables and saw
many other interesting
sights.
The Arthritis Society
canvass in Whitechurch
and area raised $367,.,
thanks to all who helped
by canvassing or donat-
ing.
Quilters enjoy
workshop on
paper piecing
A workshop on paper
piecing was the focus -of
the Five Star Quilters
meeting in Lucknow last
week. This a different
technique that quilters
are trying now for vari-
ous quilt blocks and
miniatures.
The Quilt Show on.
Thanksgiving weekend
was a success and many
members received prices
for their beautiful quilts
and wallhangings.
Viewers choice went

Juveniles
win, lose
weekend
games
The local Juveniles
split their weekend
games losing 3 to 2
Blyth on Saturday night,
and winning in Shallow
Lake on Sunday.
The Blyth game was
tied with only six sec-
onds left when the visit-
ing team notched the
winning goal.
Goals were from ('had
Hiller and Chris DeJong,
with ('had Moffat and
"Trevor Moffat assisting.
In Shallow Lake, the
squad won their first
road game with goals by
DeJong, and C. Moffat
(2). Setting the -plays up
were Bill Draper, Fd
Courtney and Greg
Courtney.
The team's home
games are Saturday
evenings at 8 p.m
