Studying in harvest centres
by Alicia Bakelaar
This year's theme at
Lucknow District
Christian School comes
from 1 Corinthians 12. It
is, "The body of Christ
has many parts."
Mrs. Bakker has the
Grade 1 and 2s getting
into harvest centres,
where they are learning
about the different kinds
of fruits and vegetables.
Some of them had their
first taste of Kiwi but
others didn't even want,
to try it. They are also
learning about how bread
is made.
In Mrs. Vanderlei's
class; Grades 4 and 5 are
working on the world
explorers in social stud-
ies. Grade 3 is starting
the tree unit so they are
also working on their
leaf projects. Everyone
just finished studying in
Bible about Abraham
and all that God
proinised him.
They welcome Mrs.
Swain to their class for
teaching art, science and
creative writing.
The Grades 6, 7 and 8
are practicing for the soc-
cer tournament on Oct.
28. Grades 7 and 8 are
selling chocolate bars for
fundraising for their
spring Ottawa trip..
Last week members of
the Lucknow Legion
carne and took :video's of
the students of
Kindergarten, Grade 4 to
8, and all of the new stu-
dents for safety reaions.
