31, 1997, the Huron Perth District Health Council
(HPDHC) must make recommendationt to the
Minister of Health regarding the restructuring of
the hospital system in Huron and Perth counties.
The Hospital and Related Health Services Study
Task Force, which is a committee of the HPDHC,
invites you to get involved in the process and stay
informed!
A number of local focus groups will be held
during the last two weeks in October., The
purpose of these facilitated sessions is to find
out about the general public's health care
• values and priorities. As input from hospital
staff will be received through other,
approaches, preference will be given to
people not employed by Huron Perth '
hospitals. •

Special speaker for the Meeting was Marion
Raynard, who had spent the past three years ori the
island sof IoM, Scotland. On the island is an interde-
nominational. chnicommunitywhichi

toward peace, justice, healing, a simplelifestyle, and,
a rediscovery of spirituality.,
"In the early '1900s, Lord George MacLeod began
the rebuild the monastic buildings which had ,been
empty for the last 200t� 300 years. There -is -an esti-
mated 150,000 visitors tQ the islancteach-year.
Marion was in charge of the kitchen, housekeep-
ing, and coffee house area, With five different staff
members to supervise. Her descriptions and slides
were enjoyed by everyone present.
Norma Raynard; president, opened the meeting
with a reading The Lord of the Harvest. Audrey
MacDonald gave the devotions reading the scripture
from Psalm '66: 1 - 12. Maudie Fisher ,read the sec-
ond scripture fromLuke 17: 7 - 10 concluding with
the story of the 10 lepers that were healed butonly
one stopped to give thanks.. Audrey reminded every-
one to be aware of God's wonderful works and we
should show appreciation and joy. 'panne
Vanderveen sang the solo "Why Me Lord?" also an
offertory. solo.
A Life Membership certificate was presented to,
_Shirley Hawthorne by Peggy Henderson for her con-
tributions to the work of the WMS over the years.
