Eight agriculture
enterpnses opened their
doors to the public on
Sunday, for visitors to
tour their operations and
learn more about the var-
ions sectors of the agri-
culture industry in this
area. It was the second
annual Explore the
Country Tour, sponsored
by the Lucknow and
District Chamber of
Commerce.
Under the direction of
Roger and Vicky,
Morrison and Cathy
• MacKinnocii, participants
were taken on a "treasure
the towns
hunt" beyond
to discover this business
of fanning.
Kenruth Farms°
(Alton) family operated
• beef.feedlot and finishing
operation utilizes both
older conventional barns

ly since 1953, and has a
land base of 100 acres on
which they/grow hay,
corn and mixed grain.
Replacement heifers are
housed in a barn with
pasture on another farm.
Fran and Tony
McQuail are known for
their organicfarm that
they work.with Belgian
horsehorses,.Meeting Place
Organic Farm is a mixed

those daily? Shipping is
done twice a week to a
processing plant which
cleans, grades and mar-
kets the product.
The importance of

horse, and Peanut, a
quarter horse, were softie

to be found on the farm

McCann. And there was
also free bunnies if you
were so inclined.
All of these farm hosts
took a great deal Of time
in decorating the
entrance to their farms to
welcome'visitors on the
tour. They were only to
glad to share their k.nowl-
edge with you- andlhe

asked the better.
