Portt was apprehended in Lucknow early Oct.•4, „when a woman leaving a Rose Street residence about 1:20 a.m, spotted someone rifling through her "vehicle and called the police. In his. estimation, within the last six months he had probably looked Into, or ransacked through, about 1,000 vehicles.
