Hockey registration. mown
Registration numbers for minor
hockey are down about 10 per cent this
year following the recent sign up peri-
od. Recreatienai Director Dave Black
says that to date 226 youths have
signed up compared to last year's
enrollment of 252.
Although„ there is a variety of rea-
sons for the decline, the increased fees
for the 1996-97 season seems to have
had•;i
•an impact. Registration fees were
.,
increased by the Joint Recreation
Board j effort to reducethe minor
h.ockey operating deficit.
