Clinton. The Knechtel Pee 'fees 'first played Goderich Canadian Tire, Goderich demonstrated good speed and passing defeating Lucknow 5 - 0. In their second game Lucknow played Blyth. The' play alternated between ends with some good forward moves by Mark Stanley, Chris 'Cook. Rene Bleeker, Conor McDonagh, Justin , and Josh Leeman. Good defense and half back work by Mark Weir, Tiffany Bridges, Rachel McQuail, Nick Mann, Lee Morrison, Jennifer Robinson and Julie Nicholson. Ryan Brindley had a strong season in goal. Thanks to Leo Bridges for his time and patience as coach. Justin Leeman scored Lucknows only goal., Sixteen Atom teams competed for the trophy. Game one was against the Wingham Tearnsters. Lucknow came out on top 3 - 1. Cory Hamilton scored all three goals. Game two was against Clinton Big Blue. Holly Andrew and Shannon Johnston played a great on defense, Cory Hamilton, Michael Grist and Hamish Black moved the ball up, the field well. Cory scored Lucknows two goals, Clinton had one. Game three was against Clinton Electrodes. Lucknow again played well JJ Hubbard was strong in goal, With our halfbacks .Darius Mali, Torbin' Neilson and Brittany Ackert playing their pose tions well to clear the ball. Joanne Miltenberg `and Laura Stanley played their outside positions well. Cory Hamilton scored Lucknows two goals, Clinton had one, In gam four the mustangs, played against Clinton Marauders. Both. teams had' equal abilities but Lucknow ran out of energy at the end of the first half. During the last five minutes of play Lucknow had many shots on goal but couldn't score. The final score Lucknow one, Clinton two. Cory Hamilton scored Lucknows goal. The Lucknow Lions had a great tournament, playing to the best of their abilities. Game one was against Goderich Canadian Tire who won 1-0. Game two was against Goderich Legionaries. Good defensive play stopped Goderich several tithes. Lucknow doubled up on Goderich 4 - 2, Goals by Richard Elliott two and Anson Ritchie two. Galiue 3 saw Lucknow defeating Wingham Cheetas 1 ' 0. Anson Ritchie scored on a penalty shot popping it over. the goalies head. Shea Hamilton saved a goal on a penalty kick, Game four Lucknow took on the undefeated Blyth team. Blair Morrison popped one in on a penalty shot and Richard Elliott .scored two. Final score Blyth 1 Lucknow 3. Game five was the championship game against Clinton Marauders. Lucknow dominated the game. Great team play was demonstrated. Goals by Blair Morrison, Leslie Morrison and Shea Hamilton. Super coach- ing by Roger and Lloyd Morrison. Lucknow was well represented by players who demonstrated great sportsmanship and an appreciation for the sport of soccer. 'The final tournament for the Mosquito's and Bantams will be held August 10 in Goderich. Again Mother Nature was kind to all with a beautiful day. After din- ner, there was a short business meeting. The oldest person attending was Mrs. Catto from Michigan. The youngest was Louis. MacKenzie Bursey, son of Gayle (MacKenzie) and Peter Bursey. The children enjoyed games conducted by the, Clifford family. Afterwards the young folk and children went to the beach for fun and swimming.
