Their father, Canon JAI. Geoghegan,was a minister at St. Peter's several years ago and will be remembered by 'some of the older mem- bers of the congregation. The same Sunday and' also visiting St, Peter's were Rev. Merilyn Letson of Harrow and her so,Andrew. Rev. Letson has pur- chased the former Anglican rectory on Rose Street in view of her retirement in a few years. Meantime her mother, Mildred Shepherd, has moved to Lucknow and is living in this location. Holyrood WI The Holyrood Women's Institute held their annual pot luck din- ner and fun day at the hall on Thursday. Pastor and Mrs. Marvin Christensen visit- ed on Wednesday with relatives in London. Tammara Hodgins returned home from Hong Kong and is holi- daying at her home here. Jean Hodgins of Wingham spent Saturday with Edna and May Boyle. Madeline Edward, of Goderich, spent Saturday night with Bessie Maulden. They both attended the golden wed- dingtea for their cousins, Don and Marjorie Currie at their cottage Huron County 11,9mc of Ralph and Mho Petersen, near wen Sound. The Petersen's moved there from the St. Augustine area last year. Monday morning the United Church steeple received a new coat of paint with the use of two cranes and buckets for the safety of the work- men. Grant, Phyllis and Mitchell Helm returned from a three week vaca- tion to Alberta. Mitchell was picked up by his Aunt Char and travelled Calgary by plane. Grant and Phyllis travelled by car through the states spending some time at Macinack, Michigan and Fort Peck, Montana. They visited with rela- tives in Calgary and spent some time in Banff, Lake Louise and the Columbia Ice fields. Grant, Phyllis and Mitchell then travelled back through Montana, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana taking their time and enjoying different sights along the way. • • 'cnlc attended the wedding of Daryl Verbeek and Mary Jean Betts on Saturday in Flesherton. The reception was held' at the Feversham Community Centre. Daryl is the son of Geraldine and Tony Verbeek, who lived in this area Landfill -decision expected by the end of September Some county consul- tants are down in the dumps these days. Waste Management Master Plan co-ordinator' Craig Metzger was . on hand Thursday to update the council on the 'study of municipal landfill sites in the area. Metzger ,said 'the county consultants are currently meeting on-site with the consultants of each municipality to gather the information they need to determine the maximum potential of each landfill site in the county. He said site visits should be completed by tomorrow and workshops to study the information are scheduled for July 17 and • Aug. 22. "Everything is still on track for a decision (regarding waste man- agement alternatives) by the end of September,",, he said. He added that once that decision ismade, depending on the out- come of the consultant's findings, the A3 site in Ashfield will be official- ly dropped. Court. Mason Bailey of Blyth restated his objection to the study and wanted it noted that the Blyth-Hullett landfill board is not in favour eof the county take over of landfill sites.,
