Twp. asked why , the job
bad not been advertised
in June as directed by
council in. February.
The job advertisement
was suppgsed to be in
regional newspapers by
the . middle of June and
interviews for the job
were to take, place by
mid-July.
McBurney's question
was followed by. a ; brief
silence 'before Warden
Bill Clifford directed the
question to the clerk -

Cunningham, a former

"I don't doubt -that all
these things are true,"
said a frustrated
McBurney in response,
"but nobody has still
answered why it wasn't
advertised in June as
directed by this council."
After another silent'
pause, Clifford said,
"The committee will
have to take the,reesffonsi-

administration." ;
McBurney noted that
nothing in theminutes
from any public works
committee meeting men-
tioned the decision to
delay the job posting.
Clifford simply said
McBurney's note was
'well taken' and discus.:
Mon was moved to the

pft ble i w the job
posti, is not . ai' question
of .4 y or who should
get thejob,but rather of
'the process' of county
government.
He said, "The direc-
tion given within county
council must be followed
and it is the : duty of the
wardenand the clerk -
administrator Jo 'follow
that direction it
wasn't followed and I
really have a concern
with the :process.
"If we are not going to
follow the direction of
county council, we have.
a real problem here."
He said the response
given by the Clifford and
Murray was not satisfac-
tory because it did not
answer the question.
"If we are. going to
disregard the direction of
county council then
we are wasting our time
sitting here. We might as
well meet once a year
and deal with the busi-
ness of the county and go
home -- and let the staff
make the decisions of the
county on a day-to-day
basis„
