As sho left, I felt bad that, being; a new business, we were not in a position to offer employment to a young person who was s eager,. yet in an' likelihood, had few opportunities to work during , the summer months. Later the same day, 1had a gut feel- ing that things were not quite right when a young customer left the store. I nervously checked the stock and my suspicions were confirmed...oneof our cassette tapes had been stolen, To the young person who stole the 1 tX .5. But, you left with more than .a "free". cassette. You stole a piece of a potential opportunity for someone who really .deserves to have a parttine job, . You stole a .piece of .y confidence thatwe earl really make this business work, and made me question thewisdom of even carrying' the music line. But, worst .of all, you stole a piece of the dignity accorded each and every young person who 'walks througli our door, That, in my opinion, is the biggest loss. Cheryl. A common, very serious error is to mow Lawns too short! A lawn should always he mowed at least 5 to 6 cm (2 to 21 inches) above the ground. Mowing height should be increased during the heat of the summer. Grasses need greater length to survive the summer heat and drought. The Iawn shshould always be mMowed frequently quently sothat a small clipping, is taken from the grass plant. Never remove more than /3 of thetotal grass blade when mowing. Removing too much of the blade length at one time stresses the grass and weakens your lawn. Mower blades should be kept razor sharp. The sharp cut will make a clean wound that will heal quickie, look tidy and resist disease attack. It may be necessary to have mower blades sharpened 3 times yearly.
