Golfers are gracious
Do you remember, when as kids we
had to choose up teams for some sport
or other. 'There Was always at least one
• kid who wasn't really good in that
department. 1 remember - 1 was one of
those kids! .
Remember how, we were usually the
last ones chosen and the teachers
always had to prompt the chooser to
call our names out. „
Well, I kind of had the reverse expe-
rience over the. weekend. Three gra-
cious gentlemen WANT?

. very good at golf, you see
they needed a high handi-
cap and mine comes as
high as they'll give you in
this sport. This allowed
them to enter a foursome

range and. kept those good shots for
where it counted! •
Coming off the front nine we were
six under par, The 'pros' with me were
very happy, so I was very happy. The
wheels fell off on the back nine, and we
ended up nine under - probably not
enough to win, but, apparently it was
respectable enough. They assured me
that the year before they were only 10
or 11 under, and that was with a "real"

The three gents had to use at least
three of my drives on the 18 holes.
However,. they had the holes figured

If they'd have been able to play with
just the three of them, they 'would have
done as well or maybe better. However
they needed a handicap and I was
happy to oblige.
There's one thing about golfers, at
least the ortes I've played with they
are very generous and kind No matter
how badly I screwed up' a shot, they
would have some positive continent to

Warning to motorists,- The village council
has heard many complaints regarding
motorists using Havelock Street as a
speedway.
Motorists are hereby warned that this, must not be
done,a nd that further violation in this regard will
mean prosecution.
Citizens are asked to assist in searing observation
of the speed regulations by Making note of the
license numbers of reckless drivers and notifying the
reeve of members of council.
• Motorists should have regard, for the 4ipterests of
others, as fast driving on it* streets is not only dan-
gerous but a nuisance to citizens generally owing to
the extra dust incidental to speeding. •
Some motorists may not be aware that 12 Miles is
the speed limit at street intersecfions.
