al perspective on family

Speakers who deal
with women's issues
were invited, Vorsteveld
said, "because they deal
with the perspective that
society deals with ” He
added that he didn't feel
it would he fair to hold at
forum and only hear from
-the mien's side on Issue,
and noted that perhaps
this forum will bring the
two sides together.
As to his address for
the forum, he stated h-
will be discussing the
stigma of the mak hatter-
er, and, "what I believe
are some of the myths of
the mak patterer"
Brochures re-gardirrg
the forum have been dis-
tributed throughout the
county, with doctors,
lawyers, therapists, the
Children's Aid Society
and at other locations, as
well as with schools.
Vorsteveld stressed that
all are invited to attend
the forum, and can do so
by registering with the
Canadian Mental Health
Association, located at
Central Huron Secondary
School, or by calling`
482-9U1. The cost for
the forum is S2() per par-
ticipant, and the funds
will be used to cover
costs for the event.
Through holing such
forums, and working to
stop family violence,
Vorsteveld has a hag goal
in mind. "I'd litre to have
a goal of having Huron
County violence free in
five yearsif we all
assume responsibility
today, I'm sure we car do

see if they qualify for, or
want, their children to be
educated in a classroom
where the main language
used is French.
Questionnaires are
going out through the
schools and parishes and
will he advertised in
newspapers. The hoard
launched the S25,000
investigation in response
to parents who asked fur
