Over 400 people attended the Lucknow Minor
Hockey Banquet Friday night to enjoy dinner mime
every member of each team introduced and SEMI
their just recognition for the yFar's accomplishments.
The number of special trophies awarded thig year
increased with the addition of the Toby Greet -
Memorial trophy in the Pee Wee Division, and .the
Local League Awards for best goals against average,
and leading point average for defence and offence.
- sponsored by Bob Gunter and Mug Brown and their
families.
The 3M Coach Recognition Award had a different
slant on it this year as it was presented to the Bantam
A coaching team of Dave , MacKinnon, Mike
COurtney, Doug Aitchison and Jim McOee as a unit.
This award is for outstanding contribution to minor
hockey and the development of young athletes, and
recognizes the extremely important role the coach
playiin the formation of the moral and lifestyle val-
ues as well us the physical capabilities of Canadian
youth.
Eleven. nominees from Novice to Bantam, includ-
ing the girls team, were in a random draw for the Paul
Henderson Sportinanship trophy courtesy of Paul and
his wife Eleanor. They were: Luke Drennan, Nick
Bowley, Luke Van ()sett, Graham. Cook, Jessica
Mann, Dennis Andrew, Jonathon Dire Greg
Courtney, Justin Brown, George Carter and Mary -
Joan Andrew.
The junior winner was Graham Cook Who will go
to the Muskoka Woods Sports Camp in Rosseau for
one week. Ills alternate is Jessica Mann. The senior
winner was Jonathon Drennan who receives one week
at Teen Ranch, Outside. of Orangeville. His alternate is
George Carter,

The Bruce County
Education Board ended
1995 with a surplus of
about $409,300 on a bud-
get of $72 million, said
an auditor's report
released Tuesday.
"We extend a big
thank -you to the whole
system for the effort,
especially in the final
quarter, to create some
