it took Justice of the Peace Helen Gale less than 20
minutes to hand down a conviction against Dr.;J.1V1.
Shubat in a child abuse trial that has attracted both
local and national attention.
Gale said in her summation that despite the lack of'
clarity in the section of the Child and Family Services
act the fact that the perpetrator admitted abuse to
the
physician placed a great obligation on him to contact

OMHA finals. After losing the first game here, the.

Having lost the flip, the locals were facing elimi-
nation on Sunday when they played in Langton
again. Lucknow opened the scoring and got two
quick ones to set the pace' for their 7 to 3 victory.

evening at 8:30 p.m. Game five is scheduled for
Saturday in Langton.
Stereo
stolen

A Pioneer, stereo, and 34 contpact discs were
stolen from 'a• vehicle in Lucknow overnight Mar,

The truck was parked on Ross Street in the vil-
lage when the small, triangular window. on the dri-
ver's side was broken, Someone entered the truck
and removed the $400 stereo, cutting the bracket
and wires:
The CDs were.valued.at about $500.

13 -year-old Lucknow boy was charged with
attempted theft for trying to take a bottle of whiskey
from • the liquor - • storethis week.
The boy went into the Lucknow liquor uor store
put a 50 millilitre bottle of Southern Comfort
whiskey into his pants . pocket. The clerk saw him do
this. ' He tried to leave the store and the clerk said
she was oing to call the police.
