Friends and relatives here'. were 'saddened to :hear" of the death of Dorothy Thompson (Haldenby), last Thursday in her 87th year. She had been a long time resident at BruceLea Haven, Walkerton. She was .predeceased by her patents Mr and Mrs., Alfred Haldenby, her sister Grace and her brother-in- law Arthur Graham. A grave side memorial service will be held at South Kinloss Cemetery atthe time of spring burial.. ACW. ,The Anglican Church. Women met, last Thursday.. at the home: of Edna and May Doyle The president Maureen Collins welcomed :everyone and gave •a reading °on the • topic love, followed by the. scripture reading from St. John. All joined in the. prayers. The minutes were 'read by Kay Thacker,:, Rollcall was either a Bible verse or a -, reading containing the word ", love. Mrs. Thacker gave the ACW financial statement and read, the correspon- dence. Agnes 'Hodgins save a reading "In Love and'. Lynda Thacker's reading was about a patched quilt which has a jot of love con- . nected with it. .Patches from articles of clothing that had been made .in the home were used. Lynda Thacker conducted 4, contest on' 'Bible women. Maureen Collins read Love is like magic, then everyone worked rata quiz on Parents of the Bible. Refreshments Were, served by the hostesses and a social time enjoyed. WMS The .combined January. and February tneetXng of the Kinlough WMS was held in the church on Feb. 14 with Betty .Bushell' as hostess. She welcomed everyone and. dead a poem on Enthusiasm.
