Elizabeth Smith was bore in
Hamilton, Ontario on
December 29th,, 1900,: the
daughter of. George Kemp and:
Margaret Shaw. Oliva spent
every summer at her grandpas
eats' Shaw farm in Oollifgwood
where she became an acorn-
pushed egquestrierini and horse
trainer. When she grew tap she
became manager of One of
Carroll's chain grocery stores
hi Hamilton. in: 1930 shemar
fled Philip Smith and resided in
Hamilton, and Toronto. In 1941.
she moved with her husband
and daughter to Lucknow
'where her husband was
employed with Maple Leaf
Aircraft, The Lucknow factory
was one of many in, Ontario to
be converted ,into manufactur,.
ing for the war effort. After the
war Olive remained in Lucknow
until 1954 when she and- her
husband moved to Walkerton
and operated Smith's Grocery
on. Joseph: Street in the West
Ward, After her husband's
death in 1956 she worked for
Erdman's Gift Shop (now
Hosts Office -Supplies) until
the' mid '60's when she
returned to Lucknow and
resided on Havelock Street.
Olive was an avid gardener
and was happiestwhen she
worked with plants. and ani-
mals. Over the years Olive wa.%
a member of. the Women's
Institute, the . Horticultural.
Society, Senior Citizens, the
United Church Women and
WMS of. the Presbyterian
Church. After suffering a stroke
in August 1988.: Olive. moved to'

resided at the time of her
`death': Clive will be sadly
'missed.. by her daughter Marie
and husband Lloyd Cartwright
of Walkerton, .grand -daughter

residence. on Jan 11, 1996, in
her. 45th year. Mrs. Duggan
was a librrrarian/teacher at the
Ripley Huron Central School
for 14 years. Born 1rr Stratford
on May 29, 1951,the former
Patricia Watdie was a daughter
of Thomas Keith and Edith'
(Howald) Wardle of Walkerton,
Mrs, Duggan is survived by her.
husband, Sid, of Point Clark,
her parents, two brothers
Thomas Keith Waidie of
Kanata and ,Carl William
Watdie of Brmpton, . one
niece, and two nephews. She
Was predeceased by 'in infant
sister Sandra •Ann Waldie.,
Arrangements were in care of,
the MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral Horne,- Ripley. At
Patricia's request, cremation
has taken place. A memorial
service will be held on
Saturday,. Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at
the Knox Presbyterian. Church,
Walkerton. Donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society or
Kincardine Palliative Care
would be gratefully acknowl-
edged as expressions .of sym-

of a 9 to 1 score: on Jan. 8. Lucknow worked .a very nice
power play goal utilizing all five players.
Craig Moffat lead the squad with five goals and two
assists, with Jonathan MacKinnon following with one goat

' Ean Moffat lead the Bantam A team to a 4 to 2 victory
over Howick on Jan. 10, when he scored a hat trick on
home ice. Craig Moffat 'picked up Lucknow's rather goal. •

Jonathan MacKinnon, Mark Stanley, Jonathan Chilton,
Atom B - Ice Warriors
The Ice Warriors showed improvement when they faked
off against Lucknow Atom'B-2, on Jan. 11. Some good
defensive plays and strong. net -minding_ kept the- Warriors
in the game. Final score Lucknow B-2 4, Ice Warriors 2.
Goals were by Jesse Johnston and Matthew Pritchard,
with Derek Quinlan, Preston Drennan, Graham Cook and
Do picking MacDonald p . is king up assists.
On Jan. 13, Ice Warriors Graham Cook and Derek
Quinlan were flying as they scored three each to lead their
team to a 9 to 1 victory over Ripley..
David Cameron picked up two goals, and Jessie Cox a
single. Assists were from Johnston (2), Matthew Pritchard
(3), Gook and Cox.
.. Atom B-2
A good team effort gave the Atom B -2's a victory over
Atom B-1 on Jan. 1 1. Lots of passing and good scoring
chances at both ends gave all the fans something to cheer
about. .
Goals were from Jeff McNee who exploded with three,
and a single 'off the stick of Shea Dickie. Setting up their
teammates were Jessica "Mann (2), McNee, Mike Fisher,
David Conley, Ryan Rivett -and Candice Hamilton.
Very strong defensive play b . Erin. Phillips, Brad
Gilchrist, Derek Hoggart, Jessica Gilchrist and Josh Ackert
kept the shots on goalie 'Adam Martin• to the outside, help-
ing him record a 2 to. 0 shutout when Wirt ham 'visited on`

The team played catch up for ,the rest of the game only
to fall short one goal in the 6 to 5 score.
Other goals were by David Conley, Shea Dickie, Ryan
Rivett and Jeff McNee. Adding assists to their stats were
McNee, Erin Phillips and Rivett.
Bantam B
Lucknow downed W nngham. 7 to 4 on Jan. 7 when the
visiting team tested the referees. They 26 penalty
min-
utes, two game misconducts
and a gross misconduct.
Lucknow took 12 minutes, in penalties.
Captain Conor McDonagh showed why he carries the
"C": With 38 seconds left in the game, he and Jeff Andrew'
had a break away on an open net. Conor could have scored
and completed 'a hat trick,' but instead passed the puck to
Jeff who scored •the: final goal.
McDonaghtallied four points for the night, Andrew
added three, as did Nate Ferguson: Cam Moffat and Dale
Courtney registered two points, and Nathan Knorr a single:

The Bantams played an excellent all around passing
game when Walkerton .111 visited on Sunday. Nick Mann, in
his usual-. style, assistedon three of the goals to lead his
team to a'$ to2win
Other assists were by Jeff Andrew, Jeff Havens, Cam
Moffat, Conor MeDonagh and .Dale Courtney. Scoring
were D. Courtney, Nathair Ferguson, Andrew and Jason
'Lewis. •
