Christmas
Christmas is a time when we celebrate
Jesus' birth. We remember the shepherds
and wisemen. It is not if you get presents,
It is Jesus' birthday. The angels from
heaven praised the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus. was 'born in Bethlehem in a stable
not in a nice warm inn.

Christmas is the time of year when
Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph in
Bethlehem in a manger. There wer e
shepherds in the field keeping watch over
their sheep at night. Then an Angel of the
Lord appeared to them and said "Do not
be afraid for I havegood news. You will
find a baby wrapped in cloth and lying in
a manger." As soon as the angel; left, the
shepherds went to find .Jesus.: In a place
not far away some wisemen were coming
to see Jesus. When they came they gave
Jesus their gifts.

The plain brown bear
• from page HA
close. "My very own plain brown teddy
bear. You are just like the one my mother
had when she was a little girl and I am
going to love you as much as she loved
her plain brown teddy bear..I will take
good care of you from now on, you'll
see."
When the little girl's family came
downstairs, they found her wrapping her
new teddy bear in .a blanket.
"Isn't he wonderful?" the littlegirl said.
"Isn't he just the most beautiful plain
brown teddy bear you have ever seen?"
The little girl's mother smiled So did
her father:
"What will you name him?" asked her
mother.
"I think you should call him Christmas
Bear," suggested her father. "You found
him "under the Christmas tree on
Chrisunas morning. He's wearing a
Christmas hat and a Christmas tie. He's a
Christmas Bear alright."
"Maybe you should call him Christy for
short," said Jane's mother.
"No, no, no. His name is Teddy. He's a
plain brown teddy bear and I'll call him
Teddy. There is no better nap:: :or him,"
said Jane, scooping up me little teddy •
bear and hugging him so tight he could
hardly breathe.
So Teddy, the plain brown teddy bear,
found•a home and a name that Chrisunas.
And he has gone everywhere with Jane
since she was a little girl. She took Teddy
to her new home whenshe got married
and she showed Teddy to her own little
gal when` she was born.
But she never gave Teddyto her little
girl. Teddy is Jane's plain brown :teddy
bear and he still sits on her bed all day
long. And can you keep'a secret? When.
no one is looking, Jane still holds Teddy
close and tells him she loves him - and
that's just the way Teddy likes it.
This Christmas, Santa Claus got a letter
in the mail. It said:
Dear Santa Claus,
Please bring me a plain brown teddy
bear for Christmas. He must be very soft
with button eyes, a nose and mouth made
out of wool, two flopping ears and a
bobbed tail. Love, Janie.
"I have just the thing," he laughed, "and
I'm going to put that bear in my pack
right now before I forget."
And that's just what Santa did.
