Although we do have a few traditions, like waling up at four iu the morning, every Christmas seems to be different. full of new unique experiences. One strong memory is waking up on Christmasmosning. A rule in our house is never to go downstairs to see what Sane has left us without our parents. The set time was ,mixt. but my ser, Emily, and always found ourselves wide awake at four. Good thing we took up all those games to amuse ourselves with. Every Christmas• morning would find us brave Suis going 1e peek at what Santa brought us,. But, just as we were about to look we decided against it, what if Mom and Dad found out!?! t . Figuring out what to buy our parents has always been a problem. Due to lack of funds, we always end up giving something small. One year my sister had a brain wave, she was going fo give Mom salt and pepper shakers. When Mom 'carne home with new salt and pelma` shakers soon after, Emily had a hard time holding in her di intment, So. Matra gave Emily the sl to give to her for Christmas, A compromise that everyone. was happy with. That Christmas was not the only we had a hard time deciding what to buy Mom. But, some how we would always manage to surprise her with something, she wanted. One Christmas :there was`a great secret going on between three of our four family members, Mom was in for a great surprise on Christmas morning. This gift was in a very big box and heavy,.. _My. father needed some help canying it into the, house; Who else but my uncle, also, 1 ria • t • • The power of His love is everlasting. My sister has a hard three trying not to look for her gifts before the big day. And then there is my mother who has a hard time trying to rmn�ber where she put everything, But, eventually everything is given and all are happy. My sister and I always spend the nights. close to Christmas guessing what we bought for each other. Wel one year I got suckered, and told Emily part of what yhad bought herr,. She was very excited, she had wanted that mini -pops tape for a long time. The next day, while my mother was out, Emily conned me into letting her open her tape and listen to it. After she listened tb "Eye . of the Tiger", we wrapped it backup, until Christmas. Until this day I always wonder why .I told her what got her and let her open it, and she. never told ire anything, not even a half decent clue. One thing that always puts our fartuihy in a Christmas spirit is putting up our real. Christmas tree. This tradition has always been a big .chore to us. But, as the, Yams` . have gone by we have cut a lot of tradition out, No longer do we all trekout May you share in the joy that is Christmas. Many thanks to all. Dad gets the tree standing. up right. then does the lights, then sits bade and relaxes to imperviae. While Dad is doing his job Moth picks out the deouratione that are gongg on the tree, and and sister odd nand I sing along with Kenny One year Emily and l 'stared in. amazement as our mother er put our lovely hoMeniude decorations, in the not -going an the tree pile,My sister and I could not believe our own mother would not like -to display her own daughters' craftsmanship, It took us a long time to make those paper chains, and get our dough figures Just right. We didn't care that when our dough figures went up on the tree, the bough they were hanging on fell to the floor. We just couldn't understand why Mom didn't just love our dough figures. Instead Mom wanted a colour coordinated tree. Well the tree turned out en' right, with some newer homemade decorations on it that passed inspection. After we were finished decd tie tree, the rest ofour Chrisimas dol went utp, including our stockings, Putting up oirkitrgs has always been'a pact of Christmas. We have had same steric ings for our whole life, and every Christmas an.titan, a is stuffed: into the' toe. When we put up out stgi rigs our father tells us some Christmas ,naming • we will find potatoes and coal in the ton; of our stockings, not the usual orange, Well until last .year this,scenario had never happened; We were emptying our :stocking, ing, treasure by tom, when I reached the bottom and felt something that didn't feel lice an orange. To my su rpdse it was a couple of potatoes. My father get quite.a chuckleout of Santa's•. little sugxise. . I'm sure thia Christmas will provide my family and I with more laughs and many happy memories; I wish you an enjoyable holiday season, full of many happy memories. Where We'd Like to Spend Christmas The country we would liken topend Christmas in is Canada. We would like to spend Christmas: in Canada, because we grew up here. We can't speak any other language, Also because, we don't have much family in other countries. Most of our friends and relations live here.
