Elizabeth Robinson gave . a humorous reading, Grandmother's' New Skidoo. Mrs. Lavis'handed outto each of the 17 members and two visitors a joke of .humour and wit, . which caused much laughter. Each. ;member brought a baby picture and they were exchanged with each one trying to guess .who they. were. It seemed like, a meeting of many years ago, when we took our children, as we had three young children at our meeting, which we enjoyed. `Mrs. Matthews gave the Cour- tesies and the meeting closed with God Save .the Queen. Some ladies stayed for awhile to add a few More stitches to the beautiful quilt. James: Mathers James Mathers ,- of •Lucknow, passed away `.in Wangltam . and District Hospital,. on November 11; 1990 in his 79th year, Mathers' was amember of the Lucknow United . Church, Royal, Arch Masons, Chapter 147 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 309, Lucknow. Ile was bom in Arbroth, Scothand o><, October 10. 1912, a son of the late Mr, and Mrs. William Mathers. Mr. Mathers inarried the former Ruth Burgess in Toronto in 1935. He is survived by��his wife, Ruth of Lucknow, son Williatm (Bill) of Mississauga and daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Bone of Ashfield, Mr. Mathers also leaves to mourn his passing gmndchildnen, Susanne Mathers and Michelle. Ile was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, William and David. The funeral service was con- ducted by Rev. Gerald McFarlane, of the Lucknow United Church, from the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Horne, on November 14. Edgar. -James Carr Edgar James Carr, of Dungannon, a.retired West Wawanosh Township. fanner, pas away on November 12, 1990, Wingham and District Hospital, in his 94 year. Mr. Carr was a member of the Lucknow Presbyteriai Church. Born `on August 27, 1897, Mr. Carr was a son of the late William and Eliza (Johnston) Carr: He is survived by his sister Iva Carr of Lucknow, and . several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carr was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel McWhinney and Irene Hayden, and one brother Harry. The funeral service was con- ducted by Rev. Peggy Kinsman, from the.IviacfCenzie and,McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, . on November 16, at 2 p.m. Pallbearers were Wayne Bauer, Thomas Young, Aft Young, Roy Robson, George Errington and Harold Culbert, Interment Dungannon Cemetery.
