1990 PROPERTY ASSESSMENT
The annual Assessment Roll listing the assessed value of each property in your
municipality will be ,delivered to your municipal clerk on December 18, 1990.
`The amount of property tax (municipal and sd ooh) you will pay on your
home or business in 1991 is determined by multiplying your assessed value by
the shill rate, which is calculated by your municipality, The mill rate is based
on the financial needs of your municipality, county or region, and school board.

Notices of Property Valuation are mailed to property owners and tenants,
prior to the delivery of the Assessment Roll, only if any of the information
relatingto their property assessment has changed during the past year, such
as the assessed value, . school support or address; or if they appealed their
1989 .property asaessntent.

Whether, or not you received a Notice of Property Valuation,; you may have
questions about your,property assessments. If you, do, please come to an infor-
mation Open House. An assessor from the Ministry. of Revenue's Regional
Assessment Office will be available to explain your assessment, answer your,
questions, and chaan$e any inaccurate information relating to your property.
If you have gnestions but Can't make it to an Open House,'please eon or visit
the Regional Assessment Office..`

Appealing. Yo r Assessment
If you are still (dissatisfied with your assessment after going to an Open House
or contacting the Regional Assessment Office, you; may appeal to'the Assess-
ment Review Board: The appeal: must befiled within' twenty-one days after
the delivery of the Assessment Roll
To file an appeal, please use the form on the .black of..your..:Notice of Property,.
Valuation, 'write .a letter, or use a Notice'; of Appeal form. This form and the
address of the Assessment Review Board ke available at Open Houses, .the
Regional Assessment Office,, and your municipaloffice.

meeting:; on November` 15. The
other ladies came for the, I' p nta
meeting' and enjoyed, the delicious;
desserts ; ' repared and served by
Una Matthews and Alice. .
Muriel MacKenzie presided for
the meeting and opened° with a
poem. the Opening Ode was; sung
and the Mary -Stewart Collect was'
repeated; '
The minutes, treasurer's report
and other' correspondence were
attended to.
June Gilchrist and. Wanda Keith,
are the:commjttee for the Christmas
dinner :on December 20 at the
Anglican Parish Hall.
Mrs, . Ritchie convenor for the
Family and Consumer Affairs gave
an excellent report. She gave us
some interesting facts on the GST,
the Blue 'Box. Recycling program,
methods of storing foods and meat.
She Bead a humorous poem Dieters
Psalm and `handed out an ` article
from the magazine Nutrition Mat-
ters to take home.
Mary Levis was -the convenor -in.
charge of the :,: Grandmothers'
'program. She opened with reading
Quilt In. Elizabeth Dickie `save ':a
reading A Perfect Day. This was .
'dmotherys quilt,y `Una
Matthews. The poem was written.
by Susan Ditto, a corporate lawyer,
from Ottawa. Elizabeth Robinson
gave . a humorous reading,
Grandmother's' New Skidoo.
Mrs. Lavis'handed outto each of
the 17 members and two visitors a
joke of .humour and wit, . which
caused much laughter.
Each. ;member brought a baby
picture and they were exchanged
with each one trying to guess .who
they. were. It seemed like, a meeting
of many years ago, when we took
our children, as we had three young
children at our meeting, which we
enjoyed.
`Mrs. Matthews gave the Cour-
tesies and the meeting closed with
God Save .the Queen. Some ladies
stayed for awhile to add a few More
stitches to the beautiful quilt.
James: Mathers
James Mathers ,- of •Lucknow,
passed away `.in Wangltam . and
District Hospital,. on November 11;
1990 in his 79th year,
Mathers' was amember of the
Lucknow United . Church, Royal,
Arch Masons, Chapter 147 and the
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 309,
Lucknow.
Ile was bom in Arbroth, Scothand
o><, October 10. 1912, a son of the
late Mr, and Mrs. William Mathers.
Mr. Mathers inarried the former
Ruth Burgess in Toronto in 1935.
He is survived by��his wife, Ruth
of Lucknow, son Williatm (Bill) of
Mississauga and daughter, Elizabeth
(Betty) Bone of Ashfield,
Mr. Mathers also leaves to mourn
his passing gmndchildnen, Susanne
Mathers and Michelle.
Ile was predeceased by his
parents and two brothers, William
and David.
The funeral service was con-
ducted by Rev. Gerald McFarlane,
of the Lucknow United Church,
from the MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral Horne, on November 14.
Pallbearers were Pat Murray and
Sam Murray. -

Edgar James Carr, of Dungannon,
a.retired West Wawanosh Township.
fanner, pas away on November
12, 1990, Wingham and District
Hospital, in his 94 year.
Mr. Carr was a member of the
Lucknow Presbyteriai Church.
Born `on August 27, 1897, Mr.
Carr was a son of the late William
and Eliza (Johnston) Carr:
He is survived by his sister Iva
Carr of Lucknow, and . several
nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carr was predeceased by two
sisters, Hazel McWhinney and Irene
Hayden, and one brother Harry.
The funeral service was con-
ducted by Rev. Peggy Kinsman,
from the.IviacfCenzie and,McCreath
Funeral Home, Lucknow, . on
November 16, at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers were Wayne Bauer,
Thomas Young, Aft Young, Roy
Robson, George Errington and
Harold Culbert,
Interment Dungannon Cemetery.
