On Friday, Nov. 9, after 78 years of service to area fanners, the new OMAF office was officially opened at Trillium Court. Since 1907, when 'the agricul- ture representative branch opened seven offices in the province, "the concept of working with people hasn't changed. Our purpose is tO get information and advice out to help farmers in Ontario," said Mac Bolton, agricultural representative in Wailcaton. Bruce. County's agricultural representative in 1912 was KC McKay and his secretary was Rose LaFrarice, McKay. serving 'the same area as today's office serves, used a motorcycle to get around the county. said Bolton. McKay would sometimes travel by train or tent a horse and cutter until purchasing a car in 1914. When the first OMAF office opened: Bruce County council agreed to give the office a grant of $500 per year to have the office open. 'Inis grant still exists today, he said.
