Rutherford staid some students
who are considered literate at the
primary level fail to progress to
become literate adults.

who have "great difficulties in
learning to read and, in fact,
they seem to give up.".
However, she suggested that
the number of illiterates may not
be increasing. It may be that
more of them are being ;dis-
covered,

On November 29, Veronique
will leave on the over nine hour
bus ride back to her homer in
Chertsey. Considering this ism;
longest time she has been away
from her family, she is, looking
forward to going home. She
particularly misses, her young
Writer ,with whom she,has very
close relationship. '
Rachael will leave in February
to spend . her part of the
exchange with Veronique and
her family. in the meantime
Rachael will be kept very busy
completing school work and
projects she would- otherwise
miss during the three months. By
doing the Rachael will still
obtain her ydar at F.R. Madill.
Veronique on the other hand
chose to repeat her year, as she
is no great hurry to leave home,
as is necessary *hen she enters
C.E G.E.F.
Verornque Lobel, a 6 -year-old,
grade 11 student, from Chertsey,
Quebec, has spent the last three
months on Mt education exchange
program with Rachael Brophy.
