made for this country by those who

Bruce County has always proudly
answered the all of its country,
The County formed militias in
response to the threat of
Irish -American invasion during the
Fenian Raids. Many of its young
men distinguished° themselves in
Africa during the Boer War and
hundreds answered the call to duty
in both World Wars and -Korea. In
World War I alone, over 481 men
from Bruce County died for the
cause of peace. In World War II,
over 241 men died. Later, some
even fought against Communism in.
Vietnam.

through community work. In small
towns throughout Bruce County, The
local Legions work to provide ser-
vices and hinds for .its residents'
future. It IS important to kemember
their contribution along with
sacrifices of those who didn't return
because all of them, gave to us a
safe place where freedom is taken
for. granted. And while we remem-
ber their contributions to ' our
present, we "should follow their
example and put . back into the
community the good service that
they have given us. Need the words
of John McCrae's famous poem "In
