Mrs. Cameron, Grade K
Our Halloween activities and'
'parade were a lot of fun. In
mathematics we are learning about
putting things into the right order
from largest to smallest. We are
also learningabout how animals
and people are getting ready foe
winter. Our November birthday is
Jennifer Bere.
Mrs. Baker Grade 1/2
Now that our Halloween Unit is
done we've moved into a monster
theme. We will create pet monsters
and write monster stories. The
Health Nurse visited to talk with us
about good eating habits. As part of
our nutrition unitwe made bread;
everyone- enjoyed having a hand in
this activity. • •
Happy 7th birthday to Sara Dren-
nan on Nov.. 2nd.
Miss Bowers Grade .2
This week the Grade 2 students
finished their Halloween story
books and activity centres. The
students completed the centres in
both the classroom and the library.
On Halloween Day we celebrated
with a class party. We played
games and bad prizes for the best
costumes. We ' also ate chocolate
sundaes and other treats sent by the
parents. A special thanks to the
parents for the treats.
Miss Wise Grade 3
Miss Wise's Grade 3 is
recovering from a very busy Oc-
tober. We made masks with Mrs.
Dozois' Grade 7/8. On Halloween
Day, we had a haunted house and a
safety game. We invited all of the
1mmary classes to cane and learn
about Halloween. We are looking
forward to learning about fairy
tales.
Mr. Lobb. Grade 3
We are working for the next
couple of weeks: on fairy tales and
Remembrance Day.
We all enjoyed our Halloween
Party, underneath our web of
spiders. We felt various pieces of
Mr. Smith the skeleton, and made
racy -o -lanterns. We paraded in the
gym and visited Miss Wise's
Haunted Castle.
We tried labelling the bones of
the skeleton.
We are almost finished our plays
for Mr. Whiteley. -
We dugup our garbage ex-
periment and the pear only had the

Nature Walk 1990 was a great
success. It. was a beautiful day as.
we walked along the . Nine Mile
River looking for signs of water
animals. Many students saw a
muskrat swimminv • g underwater. P.S.
No one got wet feet!
Mrs. Worsell Grade 5/6
Mrs. Worsell's class is doing a
novel study on individual mystery
novels, examining plot,setting and
characters.
Mr. Meyers Grade 7
It's been a good week in Grade 7.

factors. In geography . we are
working with maps. We also have a
test coming up on the things we
have covered. In science we have a

doing a monster study and we are
just fishing it up. In novel studies
we are reading a book called Curse
of the Viking Grave. In history we
are doing a study on our com-

Mrs. Clark, Library
Once, upon a time a magic fairy
tale cairia$e filled itself withfairy
tales, old and new, tried and true,
and sped to the primary Kingtlom.
The keeper -of -the -tales loved
sharing the wonderful stories and
activities with the boys and girls' at
the Kingdom. Versions of Cinderel
la and Rapunzel are especially
being Sought for comparison. If you
happen to have: any we would love
to share. (We promise to cast a
magic spell of protection and care
over them.) -
Other activities in the . Land of
Books include grade 7 Indian es-
says (some very fine point form
notes have been spotted by the
advance scouts), mapmaking on the
ICONS (room 12), ra and
Remembrance Day reading..
Midgets lose first game to
Arthur; team is looking good
The Lucknow Miid8ets. started
triceni`rr year with a loss to Arthur. The
firuti score was 4.3.
Arthur opened the scoring on a
rebound shot at 5:50 of the first
Period, after a lot of end to end
play. Less than twominutes went
by when Adrian Rau put one in
between the pads of Arthur's net
minder, assisted by Donnie Cuil-
lerier, for the tie.
. Arthur scored once more in the
second for the go ahead. Lucknow
remained scoreless in the second,
but netted a quick one at 14:46 of
°the third on an unassisted goal from
the point ' by Donnie Cuillericr.
Arthur took advantage of an unsuc-
cessful . clearing . pass from Luck-
now's' defense and went ahead once

MOIL..
Goaltender Adam Skillen received
a penalty for improper equipment
with a Lucknow player already • in
the box, but Arthur did not
capitalize on this attempt, as Mien
was excellent and stopped a barrage
of shots. With four minutes left on
the clock Adrian Rau put a pass
over to Vince Stickiend who drove
one in for the tie.
Arthur however was not to be
beaten this night and netted their
fourth goal with two minutes left to
go.
Lucknow looked pretty good for
their first game as they carne up
against a well practiced Arthur who
had already played three games.
