The gatiterhis was in honour of Edna and May Boyles birthday, Joan Bart was chairperson and began the program with friendship Roan and Doris Bushell gave an origipal story of Kinlough where she had grown up, Agnes Ilodgins gave readings and Gertie Walsh had a hurnorotts reading. Bernice Burt had a poem on Thanksgiving. Edna and May received many cards end retneWences and happy birthday was swig. Delicious refreshments were- served topped off with birthday cake and ice mom. Pictures were taken and then we were homebound and very grateful to Bernice and her helpers for such a lovely party. • Lorraine and Bill MacPherson; of Holyrood, visited with Lome and Doris Eadie recently. They also attended' the annual Orangemen's danee on October 13 in Listowel. Thanksgiving visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr were Cora Barr and Janie Hamilton of Lucknow, Donald Bair of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs, Gary Fair, Jason and Lisa, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van de Klippe, April and Jeffrey of IChicardine and Murray Barr of here. Lenore Sutherland of Toronto and Mr, and Mrs. David House of Ajax spent Thanksgiving with Agnes Hodgins. Audrey Borthwick of St. Catharines spent Thanksgiving with her brother, Jack Hodgins, and family. here and they visited with Merle Hodgins at the Wingham and District Hospital. Eric Haldenby is a patient in the Weigh= and District Hospital. We send get well wishes. The first order of business was to. elect an executive, President will be Erin Horbanuik, vice-president is Rachel Jenkins, with Jane Dykstra as secretary and Brenda Renkema as press reporter. Leaders are Joanna Ramaker and Joyce Jenkins. . Ten members attended the meeting at the • home of Joyce Jenkins. The members are Jane Dykstra, Erin Horbanuik, Rachel Jenkins, Andrew Ramaker, Willena Ramaker, Carla Stacey, Erin Maas - !cant, Lynda Dykstra, Erin Jamieson and Brenda Renkema. • One of the mothers had .a butter charner from the Grand Bend Museum and we each to a turn to make the butter. It tasted great! We don't . have a name for our club quite yet, but for now it's just Sum- merhill's 4-H. Trinity Heritage Club The first meeting of the Trinity Heritage Club was held on October 2, at the home of Jayne Ritchie. There are 10 members and two leaders. President is Denise Black and vice president is Vanessa Alton. The meeting was opened with the 4-11 pledge and then we discussed what heritage a&.We learned how to go about discovering your roots and talked about making a family tree. Thompson, spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Young at Kitchener Mr. and Mrs. Grant EckensWillet and Bill McDonald attended Ruth McDonald's graduation at Hamilton Convention Centre on Saturday. Madonna is the daughter of Mickey and Judy Graham. ACW Tho Anglican Church Women held their October meeting at the home of Edna and May Boyle.' Maureen Collins extended a wel- come and read a lovely story writ- ten by a senior citizen who resides in a senior citizen's home giving us much thought to be truly thankful. The hymn Thank You Lord was ming and all answered the Miceli with s Bible Verse with the word Thanksgiving. The lietattmy Kay Thacker read an invitation from St. Mortice Roue to attend their Open Huse, she 004 Wad 1110 minutes of the September Meeting. The Friendship Meetin4 will be on November 8 at one oclock at the church when all are invited. Lynda Thacker read the monthly letter from our 'WOO fanner dug A. Datwood at Punta Arenea, Chili, South America. On 4tober 21 a Bishop from Kenya will visit at each of the three churches in the parish followed by a luncheon at St, Peter's Church, Lucknow and all will be welcome, Jean Atwell had a Bible study and it was really splendid and all took part in the Scripture readings; We hope to have her Continue with the studies at the meetings in the New Year. — December will be a Christmas pregame • Jean also. had a Thanksgiving Quiz and she rentarked how beautifully .the church was decorated for Thanksgiving with fruits, flowers and vegetables and how God cares for us. A prayer time followed. ' Following the courtesies the prayer of St. Francis was repotted for there are so many unhappy and needy people that need the peace of God, • Refreshments were 'served and a .time �f fellowship was enjoyed. Purple Grove ladies enjoy genealogy speaker Marg and Aurel Annsuong en- joyed supper Sunday evening with Dale and Pam Armstrong. Edith Smith and Gladys Arnold went to- Elmwood on Saturday to attend a genealogy meeting. Gladys mentioned that the speakers Were - extremely : interesting and - she thoroughly enjoyed the day. Kett, Bren and Rebecca. Lynne Bridge visited Bren's grandmother, , Genie Pope, in Owen Sound, on Friday. OnSaturday they were most pleased to attend the wedding of Wayne Forster and Terri •Shaw in Lucknow. Visitors with Carman and Cheryl Bridge on Sunday were Dianne and Ron Ellis of Londesboro. June Elliott visited this week with Dianne Simpson, Ainslie and little Elizabeth. On Sunday, Earl and June enjoyed visiting and reminis- cing with several people at Pinecrest in Lucknow. Last week, Fran Farrell, Gladys Arnold and Janet Farrell attended the Area Convention in Lucknow. Guest speaker for the day's program was Peggy Knapp 'and she was really enjoyed by all who at- tended. Irene Boyle returned home from London on Tuesday - welcome home Irene! Sam and Heather Penile were delighted to have little Shane Boyle Harrigan staying with them for the past week. The Canada World Youth par- ticipants • of the Canadian/Uraguayian group: Gus- tavo Paglio, Gene Frizzle, Arthur Sparoy and Herman Bonjour, helped John Farrell shear sheep on Saturday. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Alex MacAuley on their 60th wed- ding anniversary. Neighbours en- joyed a little social with Mein on Thursday. Ed and Sandra McGillwari and family, together with John and Marlene Collins and family and Kay Coffins went to North Bay for Thanksgiving weekend to visit with Margie and Dave Lochhead with family. Bette lVfacLeod's niece, Sandy Miller, and son Cluirlete tdong with Janie Garland of Guelph took Bette out to lunch- on Sunday at the 1 URPLE GROVE • Governor's Inn in Kincardine. Bette has moved into her new apartment and enjoyed entertaining Minerva Stewart, Doris Rock, Marion Gamble and Don Pollard for supper Saturday evening. Visitors .with Don and Marilyn Reid Saturday night were Murray and Gertie Henderson of the Luck - now, area. Don, Dianne, Ainslie\ and little Elizabeth Simpson were glad to have a visit from Dianne's Aunt Isabelle Cassidy , of Mildmay on Sunday. Edna and Anne Stanley .travelled to Toronto on Wednesday with the senior class from high school to see Phantom of the Opera. Both ladies had a lovely time.
