Under a provincial regulation
adopted in Bruce county it is
compulsory for all dogs and cats
over time months of age, and all
riding and shore horses to be
immunized against rabies.

Drug education theme
of P.D. day, Huron
Drug Education Awareness is
the theme for the Huron County.
Board- of Education's Profes-
sional Activity •Day, Friday,
October 26, at Central Huron.
Secondary school.
approximately 700 teachers
and administrators, as well as
interested citizens, will attend .a
full day of presentations and
workshops as part of the Huron
County Board's ongoing in-
service initiative in drug
education begun in April 1989:
The key -note address during
the morning session will be
given by Dick -O'Brien from the
Council on Drug Abuse. More
than 25 small group sessions will
be available for participants to
choose _ from in the afternoon.
Individual school staffs will meet
during the final session of the
day, to begin forming their
school action plans.
Further in-service sessions will
take ,place in November at each
school. During the spring of
1991, additional in-depth training
for administration, school
representatives and counsellors
will take place. Also in the
spring, school staffs will get
together in regions to share
action plans. Following that, the
board will develop a Board Drug
Education Policy in this area for
the fall of 1991. .
Members of the general public
interested in attending the
Professional Activity Day on
October 26, should contact their
local school regarding
registration.
Clarification
In last week's hospital briefs,
it was 'noted that Dr Beverley
McKee had joined the staff at
Wingharn and District Hospital
in the radiology department.
Please note that Dr. McKee does
not take up her post until July
1991.
Council accepts tenders

First and second reading was
given to Bylaw 17-1990, being an
Amendment to the Zoning Bylaw,
for the Non -Profit Housing Project.
This amendment governs the per-
centage of the lot the building may
cover.
Bylaw 18-1990 was given first
and second reading. It is a Site Plan
Control Bylaw for the Non Profit
Housing Project
Council awarded the fuel oil
contract to Hamilton Fuels of Luck
now for the 1990-91 season.
The tender of Kinloss Sand and
Gravel was accepted for snow
removal. The tendered price was
$52.50 per hour for snowblower
and $42.50 per hour for trucks, or
the 1990-91 season.
Delivery of the 1975 used grader
purchased from Champion Road
Machinery, for $16,200 was ex-
pected late last week.
Construction of the Ross Street
watermain, from Canning Street to
the south village limit, is proposed
for May of 1991.
