Quite often what we learn,as
a child, from our mother or
father,will stand us in good
stead the rest of our life. Such
is the case with Lloya (Reed)
Nicholson, who as a young girl,
learned the art of sewing, °by
hand, from her mother, Gladys.
Lloya'said that as a child she
sewed doll'cleths and doll °

A talented seamstress, Lloya
can turn her handto an
of sewing and has done so in
the past. • For Lloya her greatest
enjoyment comes from making
her wide collection of decorator
dolls. And what a beautiful
collection she has,' With eight
different stylesto choose from.
Her business currently centres ` o
around hogs and crafts, . such as
teddy bears and bunnies. She
also Makes matching table
cloths and napkins, draperies
and door stops. This fall she is
expanding into the home
decorating area, taking an
interior decorating course, that
will enable her to assist her •
customers with colour choice
and style.
Lloya had.no problems adap-
ting to working at home and
not being with people every
day as she was.accustornea ,to

schedule and her one and one

When contemplating starting
her Own business, L1oya, as '
others before her, found there
was a little bit of red tape to go
through,..such asobtaining a
,vendor's permit and a license,
required if you are• stuffing
articles. All her stuffed articles'
contain 100 % ' ' lyester. fibre
and are -labelled Os such, Her
personal labels are also at

With Christmas approaching
Lloya is now very busy making
