graduated from a summer short
course designed specifically for.,
teachers ofrjunior grades (4-6) and
intermediate grades.
• About 100 teachers from across
Ontario :attended the- course from
August 20 - 24, at the University of
Waterloo. It was sponsored by . the
Federation of Women Teachers'
Associations of Ontario, ` which
represents almost 37,000 women
public eleinentary school educators.
Participants attended sessions that
examined .. "active learning"
programs at the junior trades (4-6)
and intermediate (7-8) level's. 'These
workshops included planning,
managing and assessing and
evaluating such activity -based
programs.
The summer 'short course also
included classes., for French lan-
guage teachers and school ad-
muustrators.
