newspaper clippings recording the
death of Charles George Palmer,
reputed to be the last survivdr of
the Seige of Lucknow during the
Indian Mutiny ofe1857.
- It was after Lucknow, India, that.
this village ' was named and has
become known as "The Sepoy
Town", the Sepoys being native
soldiers who fought with the
British..Locally the streets are
named after British generals who
distinguished themselves during this
seige such as Campbell, Havelock,
Rom,,Willoughby, OCtaam, ice.

Wins trip to Virginia - Beverly
Aitchison, 7 -year-old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Aitchison, was
the lucky winner of a trip for two
to Wheeling, West Virginia in the

Beverly's name was called
Thursday morning and she had nine
minutes to phone the radio station.
Her grandfather, Ken Dowling of
Wroxeter, called Brookside School
to tell her to call CKNX and claim
he prize. •

tradition - Success is a tradition at
Luclanow's annual fall fair and this
year's 115th edition is yet another
success in a fine tradition. The fair
also upheld another tradition again
