The Township of Ashfield has been investigating alternatives concerning the need to
reconstruct or replace the bridge crossing the Nine Mile River at Port Albert.
The project is being Undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Envlronmen-
tai Asseaument Act and is following the planning procedures of the Class Environmental
Assessment for Municipal Road Projects. As pert of this process a Public Information meeting
was held on April 14, 1090 to obtain comments from the general public at the start of the
projei:t'.The review of design alternatives has been completed and. a Second Public: Infor-
mation •Centre will be held to allow interested parties to review the recommended design
and express any comments or concems they may have. Representatives of the Township
and B.M. Roea'and Associates Limited, the Township's Consulting Engineer. will be available
'to answer questions.•

cerns regarding the proposed project may submit a request for a "bump -up". to an Individual
environmental lasesament, in writing to. the. Minister of the Environment.
