them for the last month. On their
return home they attended a large
musical festival. They enjoyed the
top Country and Western Singers,.
Mary Anne Kukoly and her par-
ents Don and .Anne Mesh
returned home from a happy holid-
ay. a They visited with. Stephen and
Janice Elliott and ' girls at Blind
River, then totheir cousin's Frank
and Fay Colwell 95 arid 93 at
Gardner, North. Dakota, also Ruth,
Cuyler and Violet Colwell, Many
museums and places of interest,
especially the International centre of
the North American Continent at
Rugby, N.D.
In Saskatchewan they found the.
open pit coal mining interesting as
well as the Mounted Police museum
in Regina. At Melford they called
on Jack and Alretta Walsh, Bill and
Bemire McCosh. At Medstead and
Glaslyn they visited Orr cousins
and lir • North Battleford they saw
Elmo and Irene Colwell and Patti.
In Lloydminster they saw the
Imhoffe Art Gallery and Wild Life
Museum and in Saskatoon, Ruth
and Margaret McCosh.
In Prince Albert their friend
Yvonne Mayer Balone took them to
her home and also to the John
Diefenbaker museum. At Camrose
Alberta, a pleasant sight was the
Trumpeter Swans and their gosl-
ings.
In B.C. Jack and Joyce Mason
and family at Vanderhoof enter-
tained them. In the young city4of
Kitimat they stayed with Mary
Ann's daughter Michele Chartrau
and Kathy Mayer..
The weather was perfect for
friends to entertain in their homes
and they even went swimming in
the Hot Springs, picked black
cherries and raspberries, saw lots of
black bears and deer. They went to
Dawson Creek to visit Bill and
Helen Colwell. Also there was
Chris Colwell from Lucknow
spending holidays there.
At Grand Prairie they saw
Margaret Colwell and her husband
Dick Withers. At Kenora they drove
on the bypass and visited Jack and
Joan Colwell and family and saw
,their new home being built. The
Colwell's want to say hi to
Holyrood friends.
The McCoshes arrived in Ripley
the following day and Ripley and
Purple Grove looked great to all
three travellers.
Congratulations to Grandpa
Wayne and Grandma Lorraine, a
first grandchild boat in Lethbridge,
Alberta. Trever James was born m
Steven and Sherri Kerr. He weighed

train. He enjoyed the domecarvery

McConnell reunion.
The return trip was made by

Madeline and Roy Davis at Mr.
Bridges.
Harvey and Wilda Thompson
'were taking the two visiting ladies
from Calgary to London to visit
Mrs, Lotta Payne of Lambeth. Mrs.
Kathleen Thompson, 94 years and
Mrs. Lynn, 88 are smart ladies to
travel and meet relatives. A gather-
ing at Harvey's on Sunday included
Roy and Doris McGregor, Toronto;
Mrs. Viola Stanley and her daugh-
ter Marlene Colling, Edburt
Bushell, Fred and Mary Guest,
Myrtle Percy, Irlma Jean Haldenby
and daughter Sara, Harvey and
Wilda Thompson journeyed to
South Porcupine to visit their
daughter Joan and her family. Their
grandson returned with them for
some `holidays.

attended a 90th birthday party for
Mr. Alfred Knight of Brussels.
The Ripley and District Horticul-
tural Society enjoyed a trip on
Tuesday to Stratfordville. We all
came home with our pail full of
Blueberries.
A relative shower was held Sun-
day afternoon at Alice and Allan
Gamble's 'home to welcome Patti
McDowell of Auburn into the
Gamble family. Patt is marrying Pat
Cronin, son of Josephine (Gamble)
and the late Lorne Cronin.
Ladies enjoy trip on bus
Several ladies of the community
enjoyed a bus trip with the Ripley
Horticultural Society.
The ladies saw many beautiful
flower gardens, but their main stop
was at Staffordville. It was here
they had a chance to pick their own
blueberries. The berries were large
and delicious. The trip was enjoyed
by all.
Darryl McClutcheon of Lion's
Head, son of Elwin and Janet
McClutcheon is spending a few
days of his summer vacation with
his grandparents and uncle Gordon,
Nora and Glen Robb.
On Monday Gordon and Nora
Robb enjoyed a visit with Nora's
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Ecceles of Holstein.
