Today. in Ontario, all fire 'departments are . equipped and trained to work closely with bcith the ambulance and:pollee departments. - Too often In the past, when someone called for assistance In an emergency situation, they notified only police and ambulance. When these people arrived on the scene they found they needed the help of the fire department with extraction equipment and/or fire protection. They must then call out the nearest fire department. This means time and time can and has cost lives. Remember, in many Instances your fire department can be at the scene before the ambulance or police. Your local fire department belongs to you, let us help. The emergency number Is 528-3131. Peter Steer, Fire Chief. HAVE AN OPINION?
