This past weekend, . their fanWy,

dined with Marvin and Margaret in.
Kincardine on Saturday evening and

was a clerk at CPR Windsor. Station

Bill Pike, a Principal with the
Bruce County Board of Education!,
was elected today to his first term
as a member of the ten -person
provincial executive of the Ontario
Public School Teachers' Federation
(OPSTF).
Pike, a resident of Kincardine, is
presently principal of Lucknow
Central Public School.
An active member of his com-
munity, he has been the area Rotary
Director for five years, a Chahper-
sok of the. CNIB campaign in the
Lucknow area for four years and is
involved, with students outside of
school as- aminor league coach.
Pike received his undergraduate
degree in arts from Sir Wilfred
Laurer University and a Master of
Ed'ication from the Ontario Institute
for Studies in Education. Hebegan
his teaching career in 1970.
Prior to today'selection to
OPSTF's Provincial Executive Bill
served -as President of the Bruce,
County Principals' Association. He
has 'been an Executive Member of
the Bruce County, OPSTF since
1980 and a negotiating officer for
the District for the past six years.
The Ontario Public School
Teacher's Federation represents
23,000 occasional teachers,
classroom teachers, principals, vice -
principals and consultants and is an
affiliate of the Ontario Teachers'
Federation.

Retired Bruce County teacher
Elizabeth McCulloch is to be
awarded an honorary membership
by the Federation of Women
Teachers' Associations of Ontario
on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1990 at
the Federation's Annual Meeting in
Toronto. The award is given for
service to education, to the teaching
profession and to the Federation,
which represents Ontario's 37,000
women public elementary school
teachers.
Elizabeth McCulloch began her
teaching career in a one -room
school in Bruce County. She later
moved to centralized schools, and
served as principal before assuming
the role of Assistant Supervisor of
Education.
McCulloch was an active member
of the Bruce County Women
' Teachers' Association, serving on
the executive and as president. She
was the torch bearer in Bruce
County for • women's rights and
affirmative action. She led the way
for future female administrators
with a positive and professional
image as the first female principal.
In retirement, McCulloch still
continues to v lunteer in the school
syst . He oughts and ideas will
be remembered and shared for years
to come.
