The. Bruce County office of the;
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food moved into new facilities in
Walkerton on August 3. The new
location is at Trillium Court, on
highways 4 and 9.
"This is another example of my
ministry's objective of upgrading its
field offices to provide better ser-
vice to. Ontario's farmers," said
Minister David Ramsay. "This
modem building will pmvide our
clients and staff with improved
facilities and better access."
The new location is conveniently
located and has improved meeting
facilities, including a large, well-
equipped boardroom. The offices
are all on one level and the building
has wheelchair access as well as
plenty of parking space. -
The entire staff of 16 will move
the new leased facilities. The office
has staff from several ministry
branches, including theagricultural
representatives branch; rural or:
ganizariotns and.. services; diaily.
inspeclion; foodland .preservation
and soil and water management.
An official opening is being
planned for September. This will
provide clients with an opportunity
to visit thefacility and review the
services offered.

Construction on Ripley sewage system
Construction on the Ripley sewers
was scheduled to begin on August
7. Tendershave been awarded for
construction ' of the sewage system
and pumping station, with
completion scheduled around May
1991.
The village waited anxiously *for
the Ministry of the Environment to
give a glint for $2,361,146 to build
the sewage system. They heard
earlier this year the grant would be
awarded.
Clerk Susan Stevenson said the
total cost of the project is expected
to be $2,805,619. The Village of
Ripley will contribute $444,473.
