Greg Nicholson, currently, of
Holstein, :has been hired on a six
month probationary period as the
new facility manager and;
recreation coordinator for the
vil a and three participating
municipalities of Kinloss,. Ash-
field and West Wawanosh. The
yearly salary, -is $20,000 plus
1,000 car allowance.

Events get underway Friday

on the CKNX Tryhards in a
game of ball. Admission is $2,
with elementary and preschool
free.
Following the ball game, you
can dress `up in your•best 50's
and 60's garb and twist the night
away td music by High Tide.

Opening ceremonies for Shondecti.90, a Girl Guide International
Camp took place last Tuesday, . July 31. Taking part lin the
ceremonies were Lisa Wale, Cbafrnian . of Shondecti-90, Sylvia
Brady, Ar fst Commissioner, ioartHowell;\Chief Commissioner and
Marguerite Rogers, Provincial Commissioner.lt took over three
yews of bard work, obtaining approval and issuing invitations to
bring about this camp held near Amberley last. week. Mrs. Howell
said in her opening remarks that the camp was an opportunity for
the girls to snake new friends and meet many girls from other
coinntries. Sondecti is st word from the Huyton language meaning
return to celebrate, and that is justwhat ,the18O girls did as they
gathered on the shores of Lake Huron to promote the world
friendship of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts during the 80th anniver-

and Prince.

worked hard to prepare a fun -

Lucknow places second
in swim meet
Lucknow was host for a swim
meet on July 28. Other teams
competing were from Wingham,.
Seafordn and . Exeter. Lucknow
placed second over all with „340
points; Exeter • had 1454 points,
Seaford!, 160 and Wingham 135.
