Ontario government creates Trees Ontario

want to plant trees. My ministry has
received a tide of requests in recent
months. Few other resources contribute
more to our well-being and comfort.
Trees consuwe carbon dioxide and give
back oxygen. They shelter and feed
wildlife, prevent soil moire, and provide
raw materials foe a tremendous range of
products — frtm book paper to baseball
bats, toothpicks to tom. This new
foundation is a ofeeperative venture in-
• volving. the Ontario Forestry Association
and. the Ministry ! 'jof Natural`R reQe�ess.

ministry will support Trees Ontario until ,
the foundation attracts corporate funding
• and can become independent dent, Guiding the
foundation will be a board of trustees'

leading conservation agencies. Mr. Thor
Eaton and Robert Staley is the President
of the Ontario Forestry Association.
