The agriculture committee - reviewed
the projected life -span of various landfill
sites throughout the county and discuss

Half of the study will be funded by the
ministry, he added.
Weir Skeane, reeve of Kincardine
township, suggested the study be tanned
over to the highway committee so as not
to overburden the agriculture committee.
"I guess if the highway . committee
wants to take, the study .over I won't
argue with that, Maybe they would CM -

would have to be hired for the study he

Marion MacKinnon was the hostess for
the May meeting of the Kairshea
Women's Institute on May 16. The ptesi-
dent Muriel MacKenzie welcomed
everyone and opened with a poem, Bless-
ed Are, which was appropriate for the
curator's meeting.
The Opening Ode and.the Mary Stewart
Collect were repeated. ;he scripture ivas
read by Elizabeth Dickie, $lid the thought
for the day was "Saying the Best for the
last".
The minutes of the annual meeting
were read by Una Matthews and the
treasurer's report was given. by Marion
MacKinnon. The correspondence was
read. We have received an invitation
from the Ripley Institute to attend a
Hospital Tea on Wednesday, June 13
from 2-4 the Ripley Legion hall with.
the proceeds going to the Kincardine
Hospital Auxiliary.
Eight ladies from Kairshea Institute\
had attended the May meeting of the
Lucknow Institute and enjoyed the pro-
gram which include the guest speaker
Janet Lane, the Bruce County Dairy
Princess.
Several members attended the District
Annual in Whitechurch on May 15.. Irene
Haldenby reported on the morning ses-
sion and she said the Butler Project pic-
tures should be in all the schools this fall.
Una Matthews reported on the afternoon
session. There is to be a Workshop in
Paisley June 18.
Our Institute passed a motion to donate
$30 towards a swing set to be purchased
for the Women's House of Bruce.

prepared an excellent topic ` on • The
History . of Tea. Several of' the members
read various parts for her. Tea was first
grown by the Chinese and they believed
it was a cure for everything. High Tea is
around 5 p.m. and many business deals
have been settled over a cup of tea. The
tea plant is an evergreen and it takes it
4 to 5 years to reach maturity. Tea is us-
ed the world over.
The collection was taken and Mary
Levis reported that the Institute Cancer
canvassers had collected x:00. Maimie
Roulston gave the courtesies. The.
meeting closed with 0 Canada and the
Grace.
The directors Alice Ritchie and Roely
DeBoer served refreshments typical of a
Tea Party and we were able to try an
herbal tea of our choice.
