Pine River UCW study meaning of stewardship
Mayme Wilkins spent a few days . in
Wallaceburg, to help her daughter Janet
Peck with her new daughter, Colleen
Estelle.
Louise Miller of Palmerston is spending
a few days with her mother and sister,
Rhetta and Marion MacLennan.
Cecil and James Webster. of Waterloo
and their mother, Kae Webster visited
with their aunt Norma Young in
Goderich, who at present is a patient in
the hospital in Goderich.
The other evening when Kae Webster
was talking to her sister, Helen
Krowchuk, in, Saskatoon, `Saskatchewan,.
she learned that the other week when it
was so warm here, they had 4 inches of

snow on the ground (in the city) and on
'Wednesday evening it was 9 degrees

"Pine River U.C.W
The united Church Women of the Pine
River Church met on May 8 in the base-
ment of the church. Linda Campbell,
,resident of the group, opened the
meeting with a reading on stewardship.
The meeting was then turned over to
the convenors, Marion. Lowry and Bertha
Scott, Marion read a piece on steward-
ship,
tewardship, and then Bertha and Marion sang,
My' Heart Can Sing Beautifully.
The guest speaker, Jackie Coulbeck of
Huron Township, was introduced. Mrs.
Coulbeck's talk was on stewardship in
which she told us what is expected of us
all: to be good stewards; to look after all
our holdings, take care of) our fellow be-
ings and anything we .may be . charge
of. It was a very good talk and really
gave' us all much to think about.
Marion Lowry and Bertha Scott then
favoured us once again by singing, When
Lonely and Forsakes.
Mrs, Campbell then took over The Pur-
pose of the U.C.W. was read in unison;
The roll call was answered by the 25
ladies and one visitor present,

Ruth Farrell read the minutes of the
last meeting and Margaret Ferguson
'gave the treasurer's-, report.
The collection was taken up and was
dedicated by Mrs. Campbell, who then.
The benediction was read, grace sung,
and a lovely lunch was served by the
lunchcommittee.
