Hydro on the move - The following
paragraph from the Herald and Times of
Walkerton gives some information as to
the activities of the hydro engineers on
the line which is to supply Lucknow with
current.
"Several carloads of poles for the
hydro people have been dumped off at
Walkerton and work will commence next
week on the construction of aline from
Hanover to Kincardine via the south line.
Both Lucknow and Kincardine have been
promised hydro juice by next fall, and
powerthe commission is getting
carryout the pledger Walkerton, whhich
passed both the enabling and money
bylaws several years ago, sees Hanover
and other places that came into the pro-
gram later linked up long ago with the
system and now towns that lie . to the
other side of the Bruce capital are in fair
way of being provided for, while we con-
tinue sitting here like a bump on a log
with the thing passing right over our
heads.

Cash stolen from produce store - A
thief rifled the cash drawer at. Leith and
Gibbons produce store hereon Tuesday
morning of about $18.00 in cash. The,
money was in one dollar bills and
evidently "lifted" while the store was
unoccupied for a short time, with the
door left open.
The thieving is believed to fume' been
done while Bob Gibbons and Joe Irwin
were doing a brief repair job on the roof
of the building, or .while Bob was away
from the store for a few iininutes paying
the hydro bill at the Town Office across
the -street. Greg Leith was the country at
the time.
Monster crowd expected at Friday's
jamboree - A record crowd is expected to
be le attendance at The Clansmen's Jam -
borne in the arena, tomorrow night, Fri-
daY,,May 24. An exceptionally fine array
• of ;talent ,has . been lined up to present a
thrilling . program of acrobatic, tumbling,

Lions contribute heavily to local minor
sports - Grant Chisholm, reporting at the
father son banquet last week gave some
interesting figures as they pertain to the
work of the Lucknow and District Lions
Club in sports events in Lucknow.
The Lions recently committed
elves to a $10,000 expenditure for
the installation of a permanent floor in
the arena. $624 was spent in swimming
instruction for the children of Lucknow
and district, $315 ice time at the .arena
this past winter and $100 was spent in the
promotion of minor ball last summer.

committee..
Eighteen register for kindergarten -
Registration for kindergarten for the 1965
- 66 term was held at the Lucknow Public
School on Friday. Eighteen children have
registered. Mrs.

Nursing awards - Five awards were
presented during the graduation at
Wingham and District Hospital on May
16. Kathleen Cober, R. 1, Wroxeter
received the Dedication to Nursing Award
and Brenda Ball of Clinton the Award for
Proficiency in Bedside Nursing. Debbie
Johnston of R. 2, Lucknow was this
year's Valedictorian, -JoAnn Todd, R 2,
Lucknow received the First Scholastic
Achiever Award and Alice Dalrymple of
Exeter received the Second Scholastic
Achiever Award.
Will resurfaceqty road la Lac naw
- County. Road loin Lucknow from the
town limits at the south end to the arena
• along Roes Street, and from the Camp-
bell Street corner, north to G & E Farm
Equipment, will be resurfaced as part of
the Bruce County Roads program this
summer. The estimated cast of the hot
mix resurfacingwill be $30,000.
Lucknow Village council submitted the
proposal to have the work done on this
year's county needs survey conducted
last winter.
