to discuss •
A Proposed Official Plan Amendment to the Bruce County South Official Plan Under Sections
17 and 21 of the Planning Act . • °
The purpose of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to include within the Village of
Lucknow Secondary Plan, land use policies to guide and control development, in the Village's
flood susceptible areas. It is intended that these policies will be reflected in changes to the
Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the Village.
Several site specific changes are also proposed; however, as: the general changes affect a
number of properties throughout the'Village;.a'Key Map; hoe not been provided.
The Public Meeting will be held WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6, 1600, AT 10:30A.M. IN THE TOWN
OF PORT ELGIN COUNCIL CHAMBERS, MAPLE SQUARE MALL, PORT ELGIN,
ONTARIO.
Any person may attend the Public Meeting and make written and/or verbal irepresentation,
either in support on, or in opposition to the Proposed Amendment.
Additional information relating to the proposed^Amendmen$ may be fraM the Village
of Lucknow Clerk's office, or the Bruce County Planning Department, 30 park Street,

History of WMS reviewed
by Presbyterian ladies
Twenty-five ladies answered the rollcall
at the May meeting of the low
Presbyterian' Women's. Miseionary Socie-
ty, he in the church on May 2. Mildred
Loree welcomed everyone and read two
poems Living and Family Prayer. Nor-
ma
orma Maynard was pianist, aec o mpanying
the singing of appropriate hymns.
The scripture and 'meditation, prepared
by Elleda 'Laidlaw, on the work of
women fit the New Testament church,
was read by Fern MacDonald.
Audrey MacDonald presented the topic,
• highlighting the years 1914 * 1965 in the
history of .the WMS. She also told of the
Work being done by two of our present
missionaries, Rev. Stewart Gillen,
Lesotho and Joy M. Randall of Taiwan,
Peggy Henderson reviewed, the Wad
Tidings, drawing our attention to, some of
the different issues presently under.

Grace Ganinde and Jessie Johnston led
in the offertory prayer.
Betty Finlayson gave the variety
number, a poem entitled, Tender Tribute.
President Rhoda MacKenzie conducted
the business dealing with the cor-
respondence and minutes,
The closing. hymn Was What a Friend
we Have in Jesus and Celia Aitchison led
in the closing prayer.
Vi Stanley was recognized as . the
mother with the most children, eight; 26
grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
The social Committee of Rhoda
:MacKenzie and Ina . Fairish served a
delicious lunch which was enjoyed by all..

Unit 1 and 2
Units 1 and 2 met in the fellowship
room on May 1 with Marion McFarlane
presiding. She opened with a poem, Kind-
ness, by Sister Teressa. The opening ;
hymn, More Love,• to Thee, was followed
by the scripture' reading by Mary Black:
The meditation was given by Mrs.
McFarlane with prayer by Mrs. Black.
A group of children from grade two to
four at Lucknow Central Public School
sang several numbers, They': were
directed by Joan Black and accompanied
by Joanne Scott. Solo parts were taken
,by Shawn Lougheed and Rachel Bushell.
They were thanked by Mrs. McFarlane
and served • its.
The speaker, Peggy' Sc hankul, who is a
volunteer and:Public Relations Coor-
dinator from the Women's ' House , of
Bruce County in Kincardine gave us in-
teresting information regarding the work.
and services given by this home. She was
thanked by Lois Walden and presented
with a gift. •
Laura Hare sang two solos accom-
panied by her mother. Lois Goodhue gave
a reading, When God Creather Mothers.
. Edith Webster accompanied herself on
the piano and sang two numbers. Mrs.
McFarlane thanked all those who had.
taken part m the program. She closed
this part of the meeting with the
`Benediction. ' ,
Laura Lee . Cayley gave the an-
nouncements and lunch was served.
Unit 1 then met in the parlour for their
business meeting, Lois Walden presided
and opened with a poem, There is
Nothing More Precious.
Eleven members answered the rollcall
with a verse as Tribute to Mothers.
•7he minutes wereread arid approved
and the treasurer's report received from
Noma Campbel.
Unit 1. now has a" membership of 18.
The offering was taken and. dedicated.:
Happy birthday was sung for Grace Gib-
son and the birthday jar passed.
Fellowship of the Least Coin was
gathered and dedicated by Grace Gibson.
The visitation report -was given by Mary
Black. •
The ••business meeting closed with a
prayer by Lois Walden.
Unit 2'
Unit 2 joined 'Unit 1 for devotions, .pro
gram • and lunch at the May 2 meeting,
,following which the ladies of :Unit' 2 met
for the business portion of their meeting.
Phyllis Morrison, leader,. opened : the
meeting with a reading on Flower Pot'..
Island in Georglen Bay, telling how the
writing "God is. Love" came to be writ-
ten on the rock.
The. previous minutes and treasurer's,
' report were received. The rollcall was
responded to by 12 members' and one
visitor. Helen Todd reported on: cards
