Pesticide Education Program.
Aspects of the course included toxicity,
protective clothing, label interpretation,
calibration of equipment to ensure proper
application rates and ways of reducing
environmental contamination.
"We are pleased to see that such a
large number of farmers are taking
measures that will assist our agriculture
industry to become more environmental-
ly sound," said Ontario Minister of
Agriculture and Food David Ramsay.
"My ,ministry, is committed to decreasing
the use of pesticides in Ontario and en-
suring that the pesticides that are used
are handled properly."
On another positive note, Pyke observ-
ed, "Farmers and rural residents
strenuously object to being neighbours to
