Grey -Bruce emergency health
services to be reviewed
The Grey -Bruce District Health Council
will be undertaking an 11 month study of -
the Emergency Health Service in the
Grey -Bruce District beginning March 19,
1990.
The $50,000 study, funded by the
Ministry of Health, .will examine
emergency health services based on a 15
component model of an Emergency
Health Services System which has been
adopted by the Ministry of Health. The
study will develop an inventoryof ex-
isting emergency health services in Grey -
Bruce, assess the comprehensiveness of
the system and identify the strengths,
weaknesses and gaps in the system. An
action plan will be developed to meet the
emergency health services needs of Grey -
Bruce 'for the next 5 to .10 years.
Priorities will be recommended so that
implementation can take place in a
reasonable fashion.
The District Health Council is pleased
to welcome Pis: Anna-M.arie Ball as Pro-
ject Coordinator for the Emergency
Health Services Study. Anna -Marie is a
graduate of the Masters program in the
School of Rural Planning. and Develop-
ment at the University of Guelph. She
has had research experience in Southern
Africa and in the Guelph/Kitchener-
Waterloo region.
