We have been enjoyinglots of Easter
Activities ,in Kindergarten. We node an
Easter Basket and were very surprised.
Thursday morning when we found the
Eaater Bunny had paid us a visit' and left
nine treats in our baskets. The Grade
4/$; class had. an Easter party for us with.

Everyone in Grade One enjoyed looking
at the Science. Fair exhibits. We have
been talking about thexneaning'of Easter
this week. •

There was a special visitor in our class
tits week. "Thunder" Jackie Freemen's
rabbit helped us : review t e facts we
learned at our• "Rabbit. Centres."
Another bunny came to our room but
he was of. a different nature, 'rum! Yum!

Charlie and Valerie were the, "Super
Star Helpers" .this week.
Grade 2/3-- Mrs. Campbell
Everyone is excited about Easter and '
have enjoyed the Easter activities. We.
have "Bunny Brunch" on; Thursday and
enjoyed the anmchy food rabbits gat, We
visited Pinecrest toentertain them with
some Easter Songs and 'stories.
Grade 3/4
Mrs. Clooney/Mrs. Winwood
Grade three has been practising 'a play
called "The Wishing Game" _to present at
the Easter assembly. on Thursday.
The whole class has beenworking• at
Spring centres during Language Arts and
also finishing up work on their Mystery
centres. In Math we first reviewwed:frac-
tions and did some work with decimals.
Canada still remains our main focus in
Environmental ' Studies.
Grade 4/5

island and a continent? This country is
also referred to as the Land Down
Under. If you guessed Australia you are
right.
Grade 4/5 is learning all about
Australia. They have learned that the
Abouriginies were the first inhabitants
there and that they are nomadic people.

are beginning a' unit entitled "Novels."

The Special Education, class is enjoying
watching the plants grew. The students •.
are looking forward to making and pain-
ting plaster plaques. They are thankful\
for and excited about Easter Time:
Messenger and Explorer party
Intended for last. week
Forty Messenger and Explorer girls en-
joyed a lovely evening of games and
songs at the Easter Party. Prizes were
awarded to Krista Ritchie, for most' col-
ourful Easter bonnet; Angel Shultz won
most liked Easter bonnet; Erin Shultz for
largest decorated bonnet; Carrie Mer-
riam for smallest decorated bonnet, and
best Messenger hat by Jennifer Robinson.
All the bonnets were wonderful and
deserving of prizes.
Thanks goes to June Robinson, Ann An-
drew'and Patricia Robinson for • Ridging. -
The jelly bean guessing contest was
won by Tammy Upthegrove, who had an
exact guess of 117 jelly beans.
The evening finished up with an Easter
egg hunt.
Seniors' News
Thirteen tables of euchre were in play
on April 4 at the Senior Citizen Centre.
There was a good attendance at the old
time dance at the seniors' hall last Fri-
day evening.
A pot luck supper is planned for April
25, at 6:30 p.m. with cards to follow at 8
p.m.
This week
The euchre tournament at the Dungan-
non Agricultural Hall was a big success,
with 28 tables played. High were Maxine
Pollock and Barb Pollock; second
Isabelle Eedy and Bene Sillib; third Doug
Brown and Jack Tigert, low Lois iiaggitt
and Bernice Henry.
The winner of the 50/50 draw was
Harvey Sillib who won $85.

Dungannon Playschool had a very en-
joyable' Easter party on April 11 with
special visitors Peebles, a real rabbit and
the Easter bunny.
Leo and Karen Bridges entertained 14
for Easter dinner. Family members from
Belfast were Danny and Lee Platten;
Randy `and` Dianne Bridges, Lucknow;
Lola Bridges of Lochalsh and Randy and
Lorre Turner, Paul and Darryl of
Dungannon. '

Easter service on Sunday in "Confused '
Thhiking". •
Dungannon Explorers and Messengers
meet tonight (Wednesday) at the Dungan-
non United Church. Explorers will be go-
ing bowling and. drivers are needed if you
can help out. .
Dungannon's 135th Anniversary will be
celebrated on May 6 at 11 a.m. Guest
speaker will be Itev. John Roberts.
Special music will be presented and lunch
will.,follow the service.
