St. Helen's Women's Institute held their
annual meeting April 2 with a pot luck
supper. Jean Phillips and Irene..Markham
were hostesses to 16 members and one
visitor.
Rollcall was paying of fees. Elaine Er-
rington presided and Edith Cooper read
the minutes of last year's meeting The
financial report was given by Barb Tyler
and correspondence dealt with.
Upcoming events include the square
dance banquet on April 26, andcard par-
ties on April 9 and 23, District Annual on
May 28. An invitation was received to
Blyth W.I. 80th Anniversary on May 3.
A donation was made to the Lucknow
Agricultural Society.
April is Cancer month and Luba Strut -
ton handed out the kits.
All offices were declared vacant by
Mrs. Strutton with Marg Cranston bring-
ing in the new slate of officers. Edith
Cooper acted as secretary.

Happy Hearts club are pleased to an-
nounce five tables of euchre at their
euchre party on Apr. 2. As many of their
usual players and a number of Ripley per-
sonal were away enjoying a very enjoyable
bus trip to Nottawasaga Inn. They were
entertained with a bountiful dinner and an
afternoon of games and music returning
home around 8 p.m.
The" prize winners at the euchre were:
ladies, Mary Scott and Edith Smith while
the men were Carl Wilkens and Harvey
Thompson, special prizes went to Kay Col-
lins and Eileen Carter.
The next euchre will be Arp. 30 at 2
p.m. in the Ripley Legion Hall.
The Happy Hearts meeting will be held
in the Ripley Legion Hall on Thursday,
Apr. 12 at 2 p.m. Please notice the Change
of date.

A reminder that minorSoftball and soc-
cer registratin will be held at the Ripley -
Huron Community centre arena . on Tues-
day, Apr. 17 from 7-9 p.m.; .Thursday, Apr.
19 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, Apr. 21
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If enough interest is shown; there is a
possibility of having hardball in Ripley this
season. If anyone is interested, contact
Dan Wilken at 395-3668.
Minor hockey coaches are reminded that
all sweaters and' equipment are to be
returned as soon as possible. Also don't
forget about the minor hockey banquet on
Saturday, Apr. 28.
