Community planning grants, are
designed to encourage munieipalisties to .
resolve local land use planning issues

governments and are administered by

Kathy Howald was hostess. in . the
church for the South Kinloss Easter
T:hankoffering meeting. The president,
Ruth Bell presidedand toldthe story of
how the hymn "All dory Laud and
Honour" became a church hymn. It was
sung followed by prayer by the president.
The minutes of the March meeting
were read by the secretary, Ann, Mae -
Dougall. In the correspondence invitations
were received from Trinity U.C.W April
8 at 7:45 p.m. and Lucknow U.C.W. April
22 at 7:30 p.m. •
Reports were .given by the treasurer
Doris MacKinnon and from Ladies Aid by
Margaret Keith. -
Muriel MacKenzie outlined plans for
the Maitland Presbyterial to be held in
South Kinloss May 7. Duties such as
ushers, and .registration were assigned
and members received notes for food for
the meal being served. Volunteers would
be welcomed to help Ruth and Kathy
decorate andset up tables Saturday, May
5.
The Session is in charge of the Easter
Sunday breakfast.
Marita MacDougall is going to . the
C.G.I.T. -Leadership Training Camp in,
Huntsville this summer. A motion was
passed that the Ladies Aidwould give
Manta '9100 toward her expenses.
Ruth Bell reviewed several articles in
the Presbyterian Record.
Using charts Kathy Howard continued
the study of the Islam religion. In
Moslem countries religious laws and
government laws are the same, Moslems
believe 'Mohammed was the last of the
prophets. Jesus and the old testament
prophets were his predecessors. They
revere Abraham. Just Holy Men read the
Koran. The people memorize and repeat.
Islam spread throughout the Middle
East and North Africa through many ho-
ly warn from. Spain to India. They '
transmitted much of the classical
knowledge of the Ancient World. The
prayers are the same in" all Moslem.

The roll call was answered with Easter
verses and=several good Easter''poems.
The offering was received and the of-
fertory prayer given by Eva Burt.
The speaker for this Easter Th nkoffer
ng, Rev. Peggy Kinsman, was introduc-
ed by Kathy Howald. This was a special
message in story and song. As she told
• the Rag Man's Story, how he comforts
the .weeping girl, the person with the
bleeding, bandaged head, the drunkard
and the man with the one arm verses of
the Hymn, There is. a Green Hill Far
Away,: were sung at intervals in the
story. The ; Rag Man who represents
Christ takes all -the sorrows and pains of
mankind and then gives his life for all.
The speaker was thanked and
presented with a gift of roses by Muriel
MacKenzie.
Those taking part in the Prayer Circle
were, Vera Schmidt, Marilyn Maclntyre
and Muriel MacKenzie.
The Easter hymn, Beneath the Cross of
4 Jesus, was - sung and Rev. Peggy
Kinsman closed the meeting with prayer.
A tasty lunch teas served by directors,
Kathy Howald and Muriel MacKenzie.
