McSit chie solemnized the marriage of Stanley and Laverne Cooper at the Rectory in Bervie. While the weather. was cooperative for this special ' day, the " Coopers recalled that Laverne had to be brought part way from her home, in Kingarf, by horse and cutter, due to the hard -packed snow on her road. When she arrived at Cooper's corner a car awaited to take her the rest: of the way to the ' rectory. Mrs. Cooper was originally from the Formosa area, but settled in Kingarf with her first husband, who ° died at a young age: She recalled how at that time she had •a six month old son and she was ex- pecting another child. They have never regretted their .decision to retire in Lucknow, calling Lucknow "a lovely lit- tle village, with friendly people." They will attend swim meets throughout the area.
