The theft of a 1934 Chevrolet at

thieves took Mr. Levy's car from the
garage and drove with it to Stratford,

that Robinson's car had crashed Into

was parked facing not on the high-
way, but was obscured from Robin-
son's vire by a second truck that had
been backed toward it. The north-
bound truck had broken down and the
load was being transferred to the truck
facing south. The lights were reported
burning on both trucks. Robinson. re-
turning from •London. was momentar-
ily blinded as he drutr past the track
that was parked facing him on the
wrong side of the road and he cut In
behind It, full Into the rear of the sec-
ond truck. The hood of his car was
telescoped by the impart and the engine
head was practically shorn off as the

The Goderlch Trotting and. Pacing
Association has reshingled one of the
barns at Agricultural Park with fret -
class cedar shingles and it is now in
excellent shape for the fall fair.
Dr. W. F. Clark, secretary of the
Goderlch Trotting and Pacing Asso-
ciation, was at Toronto last week and
saw the two Futurity races. "Itoc"
says the colts gave a splendid per-
formance.
With the departure of Provincial
Constable L A. Tregensa, who leaves
this week -end on holidays, there will
be one Provincial officer, one highway
teams officer and the two Local police
to do the work that formerly occupied
eight omeers.
The Goderlch Towneblp Women's
Hospital Auxiliary will meet at the
home of Mrs. Ist�'1F Salkeld, Bm e-w.t.

Stratford. She then went to New York,

of the Great War she enlisted in the
Red Cross division and entered the
hospital in Eastview, New York. It
iWes -while there she met and married
T.leut. Strickler. Since her marriage
she had- lived in South Orange, N.J.,
and New York City, but visited fre-
quently In Goderlch, where she was
iheld In esteem and affection by a
great number of friend*. Het last
visit with her parents was in Novem-
ber of last year, when she attended the
celebration of their golden wedding an-
sat
n-
�t niversary. Surviving besides her hos-
ing band and her parents, are two broth -
era, Basil L. Kelly, of Toronto, and
Joseph C. Kelly. of New York City,
and two sisters, Helen Kelly, at home,
and Mrs. Fred (YalgIe, of Goderlch.
The remains arrived in Goderlch on
Monday end rested at the home of her
parents on Lighthouse street until
Tuesday morning, when the funeral
novice was held At St. Peter's ehnett,
requiem high ma' being sang by Rev.
C. F. Nagle in the presence of a targe
gathering of sorrowing relatives and
acquaintances. The Interment was in
the Colborne R. C cemetery. the pall-
bearers being Dr. A. H. Taylor, H. C.
Williams, Lt. -(M. A. F. Sturdy, E.
Spar:. of (Weekly and Jn*tin .Duggan
and Wm. (1oodwh� of Stratford.
Many were the beautiful floral
tributes• and message* of sympathy
and ondolenee were reeelred by the
bereaved family from friends in many
centre, of Ontario and the North-east-
ern States.

Psalm 91, Mrs. My -Nevin read the de-
votional leaflet, "in His Followers,"
and Miss Buchanan gave a fine synop-
sis of a chapter of the study book
dealing with China's relations with
other nations. The causes of China's
resentment of her treatment and the
dlmrnit position of missionaries were
dealt with in an enlightening manner,
and the blundering and selfishness of
Western e•nnntries were shown to de-
serve the deep resentment of intelli-
gent Chinese. Miss Robertson gave,
by request, a brief talk on the Robert -
Son family reunion recently held in
Nova Scotia and showed photographs
of the *eeriestthere. Mrs. PIA. Ham-
ilton offeeed prayer.
Regret was voiced he Mrs. Wm.
Strachan, Mrs: W. 1. Andrew and
Mies Robertson at the Intended re-
