Leonard and Shirley Stanley at Richer,
Manitoba. Her grandmother, Lulu Stanley
accompaeled her as far, as Mississauga
where she stayed with Sharon .and Tony

Gordon and Bernice Johnston spent a
week with Bob and Marion McComb and
Matthew at Castleton.
Word was received from Rev. and Mrs.
Ramsay that their grancon Andrew, who
WAS so critically ill at the time oC thelr
farewell last summer, had to be taken by
helicopter to Halifax hospital with
another rupture, but at last report was
progressing very well.
Town clerk, Bertha Whitcroft was
drawing my attention to the county
Restructuring meeting to be held in
Teeswater Town Hall on Thurs. Mar. 29
at 8 p.m. As she said, if they decide to
bring in regional government, we could
lose our identity and Lucknow would be
just a part of an area. .
Birthday wishes go out this week to
John Cameron of ?livered Manor who
will be 91 on March 31 and to Wes Rit-
chie ,whif will be 91 on April 3. Happy
Birthday!
Olwen and Cameron MacAuley, Ripley
and Sara Ilitchie. of Lucknow attended
the funeral of the late Angus bfaeAuley
in Toronto on March 24.
Laura and Greg Tanner spent a week
with their grandparents Ross and Elaine
Errington of St, Helen's.
Town and Country Club
The Lucknow Town and Country Club
met in the Lucknow Legion Hall March
19. Dessert and tea were served to 70 in
attendance, Wingham, Ripley and
Dungannon groups were invited. Bir-
thdays of the three months were
honoured by singing "Happy Birthday".
The program was centered on an Irish
Spirit. Betty O'Donnell chaired the pro-
gram - Opening by singing of 0 Canada
- followed with several Irish Jokes
throughout the program by Betty.
The Lucknow and Wingham Scottish
Dancers, under the leadership of Isobel -
Shepherd, delighted the audience with a
number of Scottish Dances: Jessie; Horn-
pipe, St. John's River Two Steps and,
Waltz.
A humorous reading by Joan Martin
was entitled, 'People are younger than
they used to be and from Sally Ritchie,
If my Mother and Father were Irish, I
would be Irish too. •
Joan Robinson had several amusing
and humorous Irish Jokes. Ed Green
entertained with several selections on his -
mouth organ.
A sing -a -long of Irish songs, with au-
dience taking part was accompanied by
Isobel Shepherd.
Gord's Old Tyne Band' was present
and entertained with several numbers
and later played for some old time toe
tapping dancing for the enjoyment of all
tpresent.

It was with asthma that family and
friends learned of the sudden pandng 01
Angus Mario*, at his home
on March 22, 1990.. He was 73.
Mr. MacAuley was a son of the late
John and Mary MacAuley of Ashfield
Township. He attended Paramount
School, but quit in the early' thirties due
to the clepreesion, to help fanners. Mr.
MacAuley was employed at Port Albert
when the airport was built. In 1939 he
went to Toronto and worked at Dominion
Bridge, Mr. MaeAuley saw service in the
United Kingdom and Continental Europe
until 1945. On his return he worked at
Dominion Bridge until his retirernent.
In 1942 Mr. MacAuley married the
former Rosemary Doherty of Toronto,
who predeceased him in 1970.
Th* fanWy are John and his late
wife, Dianne; Mary Theresa and her hus-
band, Ross Briggs; Frank and his wife
Dyann; Wayne and his wife, Janet; Allai;
and his wife, Betty.
Mr, MacAuley married Roberta Mur-
dock in 1972 and they moved to Guelph.
He had two stepchildren, a stepdaughter
Yvonne and her husband, Danny Kinnear
and a stepson, Lance Murdock, - who
predeceased .
He will be sadly missed by his wife, his
children and 13 grandchildren; his twin
brother, Uoyd of Brampton, sisters, Jean
Anderson of Toronto and Sara Ritchie of
Lucknow; his -aunt and uncle, Muriel and
Alex MacAuley of Ripley.
Mr. MacAuley rested at the Ridley
Funeral Home, Toronto until the, service
in the chapel on March 24, at 2 pm. The
eulogy was given by Patrick Doherty, •a
brother-in-law of Mr. MacAuley.
Cremation Riverside Crematorhun.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society were greatly appreciated by the
families.

Goldwin.Hamilton Purves of 70 Huron
Street, Southampton passed away in the
Saugeen Memorial Hospital, Southampton
on March 16, 1990, at the age of 75 years.
He was a member of the Royal canadhei
Legion Branch No.. 155, Southampton,
Born in Lucknow on June 14, 1914, Mr.
Purves was a son of the bate Edwin and
Wirdmina (Ramage) Purves. •

Mr. Purves is survived by his wife,

away in Toronto Sick Children's Hospital
on March 23, 1990. •
Brandon was born on April 28, 1984 in
Kitchener. He was a kindergarten student
at Lucknow Central' Public School. Bran-
don enjoyed goingto Puddled ks and
lilted to spend much of his time there. Ile
was also a member of the Lucknow
Brandon leaves to mourn his parents,
Robert and Shirley and a brother Clinton.
