Lorne last 'Wednesday to show who the,
better team was. Lucknow canoe away
With at 3 1 win. Even though Lucknow
as ahead all, the way,: Weat Lome never
gave up, but net minder Skillen was ex-
cellent. All the goals of the game were
scored in the second period.
Chris Stevenson opened the scoring for
Lucknow on u pale from Austin Murray.
Thirty seconds later Brad Rhody scored
as Stevenson put his own rebound onto
Rhod3r's stick.„ Stevens netted hi* second
or the 1404 when he shot (lint Murray's
rebound in. Vince Stickiest Darryl Gib-
son and Matt Sproul combined fm* the
fourth. Justin Murray netted.the fifth and
• final Of the game, -assisted by Brad
Jody and Bob ,Crich. West Lome fought
hack all the way, but Ludmow held then
down for the third.
In the return match Saturday in Weat
Lorne the teams skated to a6-6 tie with
a 10 minute overtime peried. This was
the most exciting game of the season,
with both teams pulling all stoppers.
Weat Lorne loomed large as they net-
ted • the first two goals putting Lucknow
down 2 - 0. right away. Justin Murray
came back and opened the scoring for

assisted by Dwayne Porter
Shortly after the tie goal came, a real
ZIP front Darryl Gibson assisted by War,
ren Andrew and Justin Murray.
West Lorne scored one more and Went,
to the dressing room ahead 3 - 2 after the

During the 10 minute overtime both
teams,played.well but scoreless. Adam
• Minn PlaYed an excellent game in net
as he had a lot of shots to contend with.
Each team is tied with three polnts and

The Lucknow Bantams lost their
Fourth game against West Lorne in
Lucknow Monday evening. The final
score was 3 - 2. West Lorne nmv has five
points. Lucknow is in a must win situa-
tion for Wednesday's game in West
Lorne. -

goes full stretch
On March 13 the Lucknow Novice A ,
team hosted Clifford'iti the'third game of.
a best of five series'. Clifford scored a
goal in each. period while the best
Lucknow could do was a goal by Eon
Moffat for a' final score of Clifford 3 -
Lucknow 1.
The team travelled to Clifford on
March16knowing that they had tow in
or their season was over. With a, huge ef-
fort from netminder Jordan Andrew and
an overall team effort the boys skated off
with a well earned 2 - 1 victory. There
was no scoring until the third period'
when Ean Moffat netted one at 10:33 .to
take a 1 - 0 lead. Clifford tied the game
at 8:06 of the third and at 7:44 Jonathan
MacKinnon scored .the game -winner to
take the series to a fifth and deciding
game. - 1.

On Sunday March 18 Lucknow Novice
A's travelled to Clifforcrfor the deciding
game in the series. Clifford scored one
goal in each period for a final score of
Clifford 3 - Lucknow 0. Lucknow skated
hard all night but couldn't put the puck
past the' Clifford goalie. The boys tried
their hardest but Lady Luck, wasn't,. on
their side. -

The team, will travel to' Blyth on Satur-
day for A tournaMent with their first
game at 9 a.m, Rope to'tee everyone out
to cheer the. boys on to victory. •

On March 17 the Lueknow Novice A
team participated in the Novice Lions
Hockey Tournament in Teeswater. They
'net, Mikhnay trete' fir& game and after,
a slow -start they won the game by a

score of 6 - 2. Scoring for Lucknow were
''Ean Moffat with three, Jonathan MacKin-
non with two and Jeff Andrewwith one.
Adding assists were Bobby Simpson and •
Taylor Mali, with two each; Nathan
Ferguson, Jeff Andrew, Nathan
• Vanderklippe, Shane Petteplace, Jonathan
. MacKinnon and Mark Stanley with. one
• apiece. • .
In the second game Lucknow met
Teeswater and with a steady perfor-
mance from Jordan Andrew in goal and
the defence they shutout Teeswater 1 -
• Scoring the loan goal was Craig ,Moffat
assisted by Jonathan MacKinnon. The
Teeswater goalie had a superb game
• stopping shot after shot and keeping his
team in the game. Teeswater pulled their
goalie in the last minute but couldn't get
the tie goal.
In the championship gametheLucknow •
• squad came up against the Clifford boys.
This was a very exciting game with
Luckrlow losing by a close 5 - 4 score.
