the donkey'

The donkey is an animal that is often
ridiculed; considered stubborn and stupid,
` liat ishow most Mlle relate to this
creature.. But the- donkey does have one
major purpose in fife -halter breaking
cattle.
When Lee and Lila Rintoul of St. Helen
purchased their donkey, Joe, eight years
ago, they were loold% at Joe as being a
pet. But, with three daughters who- were
very active in 4-H, Joe turned out to be
mush more than a pet. Many show oat"
tle have come and gone through the Rin-
toul farmyard, and with no doubt their
donkey, Joe, has played a major role In
the tragi 'of some of these animals.
Joe has earned quite a reputation for
halter breaki»g not only show cattle but
also bulls.
JOB IS FAMOUS
According to Lee, a good donkey could
coat between $5004000. This seems like a
reasonable investment considering the
fact that the Rintouls 'rent' their donkey
for halter breaking. People as far away
as London have useed. Joe the Donkey to
train their cattle to lead on a rope. The
